This complaint is difficult to read because of poor punctuation and grammar so I can only address the complaint regarding the $deposit that the client put down on a space in the community[redacted] *** placed a space reservation deposit through the website without asking any questions about our refund policy which is clearly stated on the websiteShe then set an appointment with me to discuss building her tiny homeShe was a no show for the appointHere is her email regarding the no show: Hi [redacted] , I would like to ask if you're available sometime this week to meet and discuss my building plan for my tiny home I put my deposit down onDue to unplanned changes to my schedule recently I didn't make it October at pmI sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you and I'm sure it's not easy to just move things around when some one misses their appointmentI hope that at you're connivence you will meet with me to continue this process I am deeply looking forward to doingHave a great day, thank you for you're time Regards [redacted] I then met with [redacted] and her husband/boyfreind [redacted] in November They shared with me that they did not have any money to build a tiny home but were going to attempt to get financingI told them if they got denied funding I would be happy to refund the deposit.The very next morning (Sunday) I got a text from [redacted] insisting on meeting me immediately somewhere off a freeway exit to get a refund checkDirectly after that I got a text from her partner telling me that it was his money and not to give [redacted] a checkHe then insisted that I meet HiM somewhere off the freeway and give him the checkI told both of them I would not be meeting either of themIt was clear there was a disagreement I didn't feel comfortable meeting either one of them off the freewayIn addition, there was no mention of the fact that they were only receiving a refund if they were denied fundingI didn't have any further contact with them until February the next year when [redacted] sent me a denial letter from a finance companySee below:From: "LightStream" < [redacted] >Date: Feb 28, 13:52Subject: Loan Application - Reference # [redacted] To: " [redacted] ***" < [redacted] > [redacted] asked for a refund before she had time to apply for any financing for a tiny home buildIn addition, she waited months to apply for a loanIt was very clear that she wanted a refund for reasons other than a loan denialShe only ever made one attempt at receiving funding and I suspect she made sure the application she submitted was going to be denied In addition, there is obviously some issue between [redacted] and [redacted] as to whose money was used to place the deposit
