Rug cleaning at
our business is done by hand with the old fashioned method of soak and soft
washingCleaning is not guaranteed as different
rug are made from different
fibers, and the level of soil accumulated on different rugs affect the result
Rugs that have vegetable dyed wool, retain the soil and over time, they become
discolored; and once cleaned, the new discolored colors show up
Per the customer’s
statement, the rug had not been cleaned in a very long time, was very soiled,
and the naps were matted & tangledAfter cleaning, the rug’s true color
free of soil shows up, and the matted nap become untangled
We have different
types of rug pads priced accordinglyA 4Xpad cost range is from $to $65.00,
and a X pad ranges from $to $depending on typeThe customer
was charged less than the listed price of $for a x 6, and $for a
8XDurahold pads
The customer has
been reimbursed for the cleaning charge of her area rug, and the full cost of $
for the 8Xpad.
We will be more
than happy to refund the cost of $for the remaining padThe appraised
cost of the rug is $and we are prepared to compensate the customer for
the rug

communicate our settlement offer to the customer, and obtain a reply of

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 10211877, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. However the information provided by the business is not correct. The rug was not heavily soiled and was in excellent condition. They did not provide me a full $185.00 refund for the carpet pad. They provided me a partial refund when I pointed out their overcharge. I will accept the $45 for the carpet pad and $100 for the rug damage.
