Haddad's Department Store

Mower repair unsatisfactorily. Company denied doing the repair at first, then said they were not authorized to work on brand. Charged $142 On or about May 28, 2013, [redacted]., [redacted], ** called Haddad's Hardware and requested riding mower repair service. Haddad's came to house, picked up mower, then days later returned it, charged $142.00 and gave no receipt.**. [redacted] put mower in shed and did not start it at that time, took person's word it was fixed.When mower was cranked, it had no gas, NO OIL, and when started, the battery runs down immediately instead of charging up.**. and [redacted] are 86 year old fixed income couple who saved up money to get mower repaired. Their daughter drove **. [redacted] to Haddads (July 10, 2013)and requested repair be honored, but person (who said he was the owner's son) denied that Haddad's did the repair. Daughter drove **. [redacted] back home and looked up copy of canceled check and returned to Haddad's and showed copy of canceled check. This person then went into back room and brought out a repair log book. He found the information in his log book but he stated the repair never should have been done because they are only suppose to work on mowers they sell. He acknowledged "someone" did pick up the mower and return it, according to his records, but stated he would not repair the mower or look at it again. He did not offer to give back the $142.00 charged. He did not offer to do anything. Unsatisfactory repair work - Company does not accept responsibility for its actions. Now the Watson's have a nonworking mower, out $142.00 and Haddad's offers no excuse for what happened.Desired Settlement$142.00 refund -
