This plumber was a sub-contractor who installed the heating system in my house nearly years agoOver this period I never needed to contact him, he never offered service maintenance or inspection despite the fact that he installed the system with a heat-exchange warranty
Last year I noticed that the boiler was leakingI consulted the manufacturer who informed me that the warranty that MrHaertsch sold me was enforceable ONLY through his supplierSo I had to go through him to activate the warranty and receive the heat exchangeI called him early in December and described the situation to himHe responded to my emergency call almost immediately making me think, wow, taking out insurance from the installation guy is a prudent risk management actI couldn't be more naive in my assessment!
MrHaertsch arrived promptly and assured me that the first thing he needs to do is restore heat in the houseHe didHe glued the visible cracks, charged me $for a two hour visit and went awayI was waiting for nearly months to hear from him about the heat-exchange under the warrantyLeaving my house he assured me that my best option is to go with an upgraded, new, 95% efficient unitI told him that I will be happy with the existing type which was 90% efficientHe never returned my calls on why he is not honoring the contract he sold meJust a few days ago - April 2, I called him again to let him know that the fix to the leak he applied months ago run its course and that the boiler is leaking again and I need to proceed with the heat-exchange warrantyAs of today, April 7, he has not returned my calls
Michael Haertsch, never earned my business because of his reputation or quality of workHe entered my house as a subcontractor brought in by the contractor I hired to do a modest renovationHe left his business card/sticker behind which earned him a call when the need arised and a few extra bucksHe earned my anathema and word of caution to anyone out there willing to do his research in order to protect his hard earned money from wheeler-dealers like him
