Hag's Automotive Reviews (3)

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I would like to first off start by correcting Hag's Automotive on their reference to my partner as [redacted] His name is [redacted] As the vehicle owner, and they would have known that I, [redacted] , am the vehicle owner if they had looked at the vehicle registration which is protocol to do before any work is doneAs the vehicle owner I feel that the work should have been cleared by me and this whole situation very may well not have occurred.I made the appointment, the vehicle is in my name, and I feel that I should have been the one to be notified about the worldWe are not legally marriedI never encouraged anybody to rate their business page, but after reading my review, which I am attaching and was in no way harassing, smearing, or slanderous, lots of people took it upon their own selves to leave reviews(I might mention that all the star reviews were from family members.) I don't intend to beat a dead horse, but why on earth would anyone put nearly $1,into an older vehicle if they weren't under the impression from the mechanic that it would be a running vehicle? I understand the work they did do is fine, but it also isn't the reason we got the repairs doneI would like a partial refund of $from Hag's Automotive due to the fact that there were repairs made to the vehicle, but under pretensesI do not expect to pay for the parts since they are still in my possession Sincerely, [redacted]

Response to ID # ***
The customer Mr*** *** brought a Jeep Cherokee to our office on February 25, Hesaid he brought the car in because it would not start, and made a weird noise when they attempted tostart itHe asked us to make it startThe vehicle came to us without a
batteryWe fixed the batterycables which were hooked up incorrectly, and he had us install a batteryThe car started, and droveaway, with no issues
A few weeks later on March 1},2016, Ms*** *** called us and said that the vehicle is stalling, and she wanted a full vehicle inspection to try to see what was wrong with the carI would like to notethat this is the only time that we had ever spoken to Ms*** during the repair transaction, and Mr.*** was the only person that we worked with at Hag's AutomotiveThe appointment was set forMarch 21, 2016, and on that date we inspected the vehicle
We found problems with the radiator, water pump, radiator cap, and a U-jointNo stalling issues wereexperienced during the test drive, or while running the vehicleDue to that, Mike asked Mr*** tocome to the office to go over the estimate because it had nothing to do with the stallingMr***was told that the vehicle never stalled for us, and this work listed on the estimate was not going to fixthe stalling issueHe was told that because the vehicle never stalled while in our shop, we did not know, nor would we have any way of knowing, why the vehicle stallsThe vehicle would have to stall at theshop in order to diagnose what the problem isMike also informed Mr*** that it was evident afterthe inspection that someone put a large amount of Stop-Leak in the cooling system, which can possiblycause a blockage in the heater coreThis was the only time a blockage was ever mentionedMr.*** said that he approved the repairs, after reviewing the estimate
After Mr*** authorized the work on March 21, he chose to leave the vehicle here until hisscheduled appointment on March The work on the estimate was completed, and Mr*** cameto pick up the vehicle on March I went over with him what had been fixedI also let Mr***know that the radiator hose had been replaced as well, because during the repair process the radiatorhose was found to also have a leak in itIn no way and at no time was Mr*** told that any radiatorhose was pluggedMr*** signed hisi~voice and paid for his repairs on March 29,
We would have liked to address any issues that Mr*** may have had about our work with himdirectlyWe have never had the opportunity to speak to Mr*** himself on any confusion he or Ms.*** may have hadInstead, Ms*** called after Mr*** got home and said that the cardied again, and I spoke to herI told her that the work that he had done would not have fixed thestalling issueI informed Ms*** that Mike would call her back, as at the time she called he was notin the shop
Mike called Ms*** back, and let her know all the results we found from the inspection, and theapproved work that Mr*** had doneHe told her again that the vehicle did not stall here, so wewould have no way of knowing what was causing that issue, and told her it was relayed to Mr***that the work that was done was not going to fix any stallingShe stated that she would talk to Mr.*** and Mr*** would talk to us the next dayShe then hung up on Mike before he could sayanything else
That evening, it was brought to our attention that Ms*** was posting things on a Lewis CountyFacebook group site, claiming that we don't stand behind our work and that we didn't fix her car aspromised, and that we told Mr*** it was a clogged radiator hose that was keeping the vehiclefrom runningThis prompted many comments from friends backing up her statementThe untruthfulthings that were said on this post and in the comments got so negative that the administrator of the sitetook the post down off of the page
Ms*** then decided to move to our business Face book page, leaving a negative one-star reviewabout her experienceThis is her right and she is more than welcome to give feedback, negative orpositive- just as any customer is able to doHowever, she then rallied a large group of friends andfamily, most of whom have not ever had any work done at Hag's Automotive, to leave negative one-starreviews on our Face book siteIn a matter of a few hours, our rating was almost completely depleted
This greatly affected our business Face book site, and was done with the intent to cause our businessharmBecause of this, we had to remove our business Face book site to avoid further untrue and unfairlydepicted ratings from continuing
The next day, Ms ***'s mother called to request the old parts off of the JeepWe were happy tooblige, and so her mother came to pick up the partsThat same day we did receive a negative Yelpreview from a non-customer, who is a friend of Ms***'s
We have yet to hear any more on this issue from the customer, Mr*** ***
The young woman filing this complaint was not present when the information was relayed to Mr.***, and she did not make the decision to have the work completed after reviewing the estimate. She seems to have a different perception of what happened while the vehicle was at our shop than whattook placeHer behavior has bordered on harassment which did lead us to seek legal counselWe wereadvised not to communicate with her anymore
We ask that Mr*** take responsibility for approving the work that was done on his vehicle- workthat was completed fully, fairly, and honestlyNew parts were put on his vehicle and his old parts were returned to him through Ms***'s mother; therefore, Mr*** cannot be refunded for parts, asthose parts cannot be returned
