fill blooded bloodhoundShe won't even give me a birthdateI have repeatedly tried to contact her and now no response at all She now uses a service called Venmo for payment and she knows that the consumer has no recourse to dispute their transaction
Word of warning I bought a female bh from Southern Belle Bloodhounds and she came with infections in both ears and was not told of condition before shipping herCame with unmarked bag of pillsRefusing to reimburse vet bill
I took her to vet and got the correct treatment for the ears and was told it would likely be chronic since she was so young to get itAlso had her dewormed again and will be vaccinated again to be sure as breeder does not provide vet health certificate

This breeder is not a trustworthy breederShe doesn't supply the documents needed for her so called AKC registered puppiesShe is very poor with communication and will ignore you completely once the puppy is picked upShe is not a 100% legit
Our puppy was born May 23, On February 14, our month old puppy was diagnosed with Multicystic dysplastic kidneys Our puppy was scheduled for her spay and things had to be put on hold She received bloodwork and an ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis At months she has started a kidney supplement and had to be switched to adult food The breeder has been contacted multiple times I was told her vet was out and had to review the records Now inching towards the end of April I have not heard from the breeder since the end of March I have sent her messages all of which she has received and opened My fiance and I simply want the refund of our puppy to afford her specialist visit I am a vet tech and currently work in the animal industry and this woman is speaking to me as I do not understand what is going on with my own dog I do not think this woman should be in business From the beginning she has been very misleading We never received our AKC forms, our puppy was extremely small not even weighing 10lbs at weeks old I wish we would have done our research a little further and had spent the money for a breeder of merit This woman is a poor excuse of a breeder and human

Back in October I placed a $deposit with Heather Holcombe, owner of A Southern Belles Bloodhounds, to go towards a puppy from a litter of Bloodhounds that would be ready to go to their homes the week before christmasThree week after they were born, I found out after inquiring about the puppies, asking how they are doing and hoping to get picturesShe informed me that she lost all of the litter except for two and that she could either refund my $or put that deposit towards the next litter which would be ready to go to their new homes a week after New YearsI agreed to putting the deposit towards the next litterAfter this, her communication stoppedI couldn't get her to return phone calls, text messages, emails, and my wife even tried to get a response thru Facebook, with no luckThe only time I got a response was when I sent her a text message telling her how this is all starting to look like a scam and I planned to file a claim with my bank to get my money backI asked
I've read the other complaints about MsHolcombe and am shockedI had the best experience with A Southern Belle's BloodhoundsI found her on Facebook near the end of and after reaching out, she quickly replied, always keeping up with all my communications, sent me pictures of the litter that was just born, and I was able to secure first pick of the boy dogs with a $deposit I was a little nervous to send the money because I hadn't met her in person, but after both my boyfriend and I talked to her extensively over the phone, we decided to go for it- the puppies were too cute
She gave us the option to drive and get him or have him shippedWe drove to pick up our pup and went to her place to take a first look, then take him home the next day Her property was large and well-maintained, the many dogs all were clean, well-fed, and with plenty of room to roamWe got to meet his mom and dad and play with all the puppies and spent two hours at her house and went back the next morning to get himFrom my experience and talking with her, I got the feeling that she really cares about her dogs and does this because she loves itI did extensive research on what to look for in a breeder and the good ones don't make much profit Her hounds, while expensive, are actually under what many breeders were charging (at least the or so I looked at)I wouldn't be surprised if she actually doesn't make much money with how much care costs when they are puppiesThat's speculation, but I was surprised by the quality of the hound for the price, going off AKC website tips
She did take a couple weeks to send the AKC papers to us and I didn't think we'd get them, but I got them in the mail a month or so later I also Facebook "stalked" two of the other owners of our same litter to see how their pups were turning out- just as handsome and happy as our boy Our pup is truly one of the best dogs and we get stopped constantly and asked where we got him He's added an unbelievable amount of joy to my life and I'm sad that there are no positive reviews for MsHolcombeI can't say enough nice things about my experience and I know my dog would say the same if he could I would go back in a heartbeat
