Review: I found a website online while on a visit to New York City from New Mexico. I contacted this company thinking that since it was Manhattan, it had to be the best. To my dismay, it was nothing near worthy of going to. I called the number to the website and made an appointment for the following day. I found myself going to a resident home address in Manhattan. I was surprised to find that the extensions were bagged in a drawer beneath this ladies furniture. She told me that the salon downstairs would charge me a lot but she was reasonable with her rates. I met Ruthie N[redacted] who proceeded to charge me $375.00 as an upfront fee for the service and then said she'd charge me after based on the time and amount of hair she'd use. After 4 hours, the extensions were in and she then charged me another $703.00. I was happy to have the hair although it wasn't cut or shaped when she had told me that she'd get someone from downstairs to trim it. After about a week, I noticed the hair felt sticky and had a tar-ish feel to it. It was uncomfortable and my head itched for days. I contacted her and told her that I wasn't happy with the extensions and she told me to send her the extensions that had fallen out. By this time, almost 2/3 of the hair came out and my hair looked horrible. I wasn't happy with it and I cried to my husband. I overnighted a package to her along with a letter requesting that she refund me a portion (if not all) the money that I paid. Mind you, when I was there in NYC, I was on vacation and missed going to Central Park with family. I sent her a letter dated May ** and have yet to hear back from her.Desired Settlement: Here is a portion of the letter I sent her: Im sending you some extension hair that I recently saved but as I stated, Ive disposed of other strands. Also, the extension hairs come out loosely and the hair looks like its becoming thinner each day. Im hoping that I find the time and money to get it corrected but I would greatly appreciate a partial refund as I spent $1,078 of my hard earned money. I do believe we can come up with a solution to this hair-tastrohpy as I am within my rights tIm sending you some extension hair that I recently saved but as I stated, Ive disposed of other strands. Also, the extension hairs come out loosely and the hair looks like its becoming thinner each day. Im hoping that I find the time and money to get it corrected but I would greatly appreciate a partial refund as I spent $1,078 of my hard earned money.
