Revdex.com: This letter is in response to a complaint we've received Incidentally, the "recent purchase" was made on 11/22/2009, almost years ago We sold the furniture in question as 100% leather, meaning covered all the way around in leather which it is The factory [redacted] aka [redacted] sold the upholstery to us as leather Please see the attached factory receipt There are many types of leather thrown into the same category as leather Some are known as "bonded" or "bicast leather." [redacted] / [redacted] did have other frames that were labeled as such This frame, the #***, was in fact labeled as leather Leathers were noted on invoices differentiated by being labeled as bonded, bicast, or leather The items in question was labeled as leather and is in deed real leather with a poly backing, an import from China as labeled underneath the customers furniture Clearly our invoice from [redacted] / [redacted] states that what we purchased was leather, we would never have sold a product under pretenses The company known as [redacted] and [redacted] has been out of business since 2013, four years after complaint made the purchase The upholstery at the time was a closeout special -that's what we think the customer means when stating that she believed the business was closed or going through bankruptcy The company did have a one year manufacturer's warranty on all there products, including the leather that the customer purchased We did make contact with customer after the complaint was filed and took pictures which we have attached in file form It appears to us that for some reason the leather is separating from the backing I have no idea how the furniture was used, cleaned or taken care of but the pictures show definite damage After six years of use it is unreasonable to expect a full refund I have contacted the state attorney's office, Seth G [redacted] office, and our local magistrateWay too much time has passes to expect a remedy from us.Sincerely,Charles *H***Hakes Home FurnishingsPS As an act of good faith, I would offer a 33% credit as a trade in towards a future purchase

Incidentally, the "recent purchase" was made on 11/22/2009, almost 6 years ago.  We sold the furniture in question as 100% leather, meaning covered all the way around in leather which it is.  The factory [redacted] aka [redacted] sold the upholstery to us as leather.  Please see the attached factory receipt.  There are many types of leather thrown into the same category as leather.  Some are known as "bonded" or "bicast leather."  [redacted]/[redacted] did have other frames that were labeled as such.  This frame, the #[redacted], was in fact labeled as leather.  Leathers were noted on invoices differentiated by being labeled as bonded,  bicast, or leather.  The items in question was labeled as leather and is in deed real leather with a poly backing, an import from China as labeled underneath the customers furniture.  Clearly our invoice from [redacted]/ [redacted] states that what we purchased was leather, we would never have sold a product under false pretenses.   The company known as [redacted] and [redacted] has been out of business since 2013, four years after complaint made the purchase.  The upholstery at the time was a closeout special -that's what we think the customer means when stating that she believed the business was closed or going through bankruptcy.  The company did have a one year manufacturer's warranty on all there products, including the leather that the customer purchased.  We did make contact with customer after the complaint was filed and took pictures which we have attached in file form.  It appears to us that for some reason the leather is separating from the backing.  I have no idea how the furniture was used, cleaned or taken care of but the pictures show definite damage.  After six years of use it is unreasonable to expect a full refund.  I have contacted the state attorney's office, Seth G[redacted] office, and our local magistrate. I am rejecting this response because: When I went into the store to question if the leather was 100%. He pulled out the invoice and said that it was.  I then showed him the picture of our sofa with the leather peeling off.  He said it was fake leather and that he could not do anything, but I should contact the company that made the furniture.  He said that he goes by what the manufacturer tells him. Again, 100% leather is written on the receipt and the tag from the couch was under the furniture. I realize that we purchased this furniture 11/09, but the "leather" did not start peeling off the couch until 2011. In 2012 the love seat started to peel off and as you can see the chair started peeling 6 months ago. Please see attached photos.
