To whom it may concern,                 We have reached a resolution with our former patient [redacted].  She was reimbursed the $65 that she was charged for the contact lens fitting portion of her exam on Thursday...

July, 20th, 2017.  We would like to make it clear that Dr. [redacted] reimbursed Ms. [redacted] as a gift out of the kindness of her heart, not because the patient was owed anything or overcharged.  Any location the patient decides to visit will charge her an out of pocket fee for the contact lens fitting portion of an exam when using her Tricare insurance.  When [redacted] spoke with Tricare about whether or not she should have paid out of pocket at the time of her visit, she failed to mention that she received a contact lens fitting so Tricare then instructed her to request a reimbursement thinking that our office charged her a fee for a basic eye exam.  Ms. [redacted] gave her insurance false information and therefore received inaccurate instruction on how to handle the situation with our office.  Our Murrieta office m[redacted]ger [redacted] contacted Tricare and Ms. [redacted] simultaneously via three-way call and questioned Tricare directly on their policy regarding contact lens fittings. Tricare clearly stated that they do not cover contact lens fittings under any circumstances.  When Ms. [redacted] heard this information directly from Tricare, she became agitated and continued to argue with Ms. [redacted], then proceeded to hang up the line mid-discussion.  Ms. [redacted] and Dr. [redacted] have come to an agreement to part ways due to the lack of mutual understanding regarding the situation.  If any further action is required on our part, please contact us by fax or email.  Thank You.   Signed,                 Dr. [redacted], O.D.     Email: H[redacted]@verizon.net Fax: ###-###-####
