Response:

[redacted] spoke with customer and explained issues with odometer and it being owned by a previous contractor. we have offered to remove the "ghost" images from truck entirely. We are providing customer with a car to drive and have it scheduled on Tuesday the 27th of October. Customer is happy and we here at Haley are very happy to be able to resolve this issue.

Response:

After further review and after talking to the customer in person we feel we have done enough to take of this customer. We polished all affected areas to remove ghost images from stickers on truck, we washed and vacuumed vehecle before giving back to customer. we performed a complete vehicle alignment at no charge that customer thru in at last minute that was not previosly discussed. We supplied a car to drive for customer as not to inconvienence them while doing this. We programmed and supplied a second remote for customers security system. We gave the customer an in store gift card for 200.00 to use for future services as needed. After all of this customer is now pointing out some minor touch up paint work from previous owner, Dealer representative Mr. [redacted] even still went out to look at what the customer was stating. After inspection dealer explained that he did purchase a used truck with over 50000 mile on it. We explained that he had the oportunity to inspect vehicle before purchase. Explained that dealer is not responsible to rebuild used cars as thats why there is a difference between new and used and also difference in new price compared to used price. But even with that being said we still offered as a goodwill getsure to split the cost of painting the front bumper if that is what we wanted. Although the part that is peeling is behind the grille and cannot be seen without opening hood. So, we the dealer feel and know that we have not only done enough for the customer but have stepped up and done extra for him and will not do anymore or anything else at this time.

Consumer

Response:

Yes, Mr. [redacted] has been very helpful and a man of his word. We are just waiting on a call back from the painter so we can split the cost of front bumper as they have stated in statement. Mr. [redacted] said that it was done previously by someone else and the work was bad from not clean & strip bumper. Resulting in peeling / trash in paint (overspray) that you can't clean out of white and will only get worse peeling later. Mr. [redacted] has told me we can get this done the right way and I trust & Thank him for all his help

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Review: I purchased a used vehicle from Haley Toyota on 2/6/13. The sales person said it had a clean Carfax and gave me and Autocheck which he said was the same thing. The Autocheck showed a clean record with no accidents. I took his work that it was the same as the Carfax and purchased the vehicle. On 5/14/13 I decided to trade the vehicle in, at another dealer as I was dissatisfied with Haley Toyota. When I got the vehicle appraised they told me I was going to get $1500 less because of an accident on the Carfax. They showed me the Carfax and in November of 2012 in was in an accident. I would not have bought the truck if I had of known this. I called Haley on 5/15/13 and was a told a manager would call me back soon that day and speak to me about this. It is 2 days later and still no word from them.Desired Settlement: Im asking for Haley to resolve this the best way they see fit to make a customer satisfied.

Response:

Mr [redacted] did apply for a loan to purchase a 2008 Mitsubishi Endeavor. The term that was requested by Mr [redacted] was 72 months. [redacted] was the only bank to approve his loan for the term he needed to meet his payment. There was also an advance issue as Mr [redacted] had negative equity in the amount of $2771. [redacted] is the only bank that was approving his loan for this advance as well. One of the stipulation that [redacted] required was proof of income. Mr [redacted] had listed a primary job and a secondary job. A copy of his paystubs from each was required. It took Mr [redacted] a little time to respond. By the time Mr [redacted] had provided us with the information, The first payment was due. I advised [redacted] to deduct the first payment from our proceeds, leaving Mr [redacted] with his first payment due on October 26, 2013. As far as Mr [redacted]s credit, that was never the issue. Again, the issues were the term for the age of the vehicle and the advance of the loan since Mr [redacted] had $2771 in neguity equity with no cash down payment. Should you need any additional information, please call [redacted], Finance Director for Haley Toyota at [redacted]

Review: a year and a half ago I bought a new Toyota, Camry, on the FIRST visit back to the dealership, we noticed and noted that the headliner was coming loose from around the windshield and keeps coming loose to date. I have brought it too their attention several times, to no avail... Their service department is nothing short of rude, I have been insulted by the way that some of these people act and display their brilliance. Last week when I was there I brought it too their attention again,,([redacted]) came out to look at it she ask me to come back into the service area and she would see what she could fine, after entering the area, I was telling her that once before that one of the service reps told me they would have too wait on a recall...Her response was, He didn,t tell you that, I took that as her calling me a liar. I am tired of these people in the service department and of Toyota, I cannot believe a company can continue in a manner such as thisDesired Settlement: I want it fixed, but at another Toyota location, I will not deal with Haley Toyota again.

Business

Response:

I believe there is some misunderstanding somewhere. First we have no history of a complaint ever on headliner recorded. If there was a verbal cpmplaint which evedently there was, at that time the headliners was not available for replacement. There are no noted or written complaints either since that time. The last visit it was told to the advisor again after the ro was written. The advisor did look at the headliner and immediataly reported to her boss for approval. We recieved authorization to order a new headliner for the customer and are awaiting for it to arrive. It is taking a little longer due to the holidays and it is shipped in a 7 fooot by 7 foot 7 by 1 foot deep box. Therefore It has to be shipped from warehouse by common carrier. At time of arrival the customer would be notified and scheduled for a rental car at Toyota's expense and installed at our body shop as that is where we have that type of repair done. Once recieved and scheduled it normally takes about three days for total turn around. I left a message for Mr [redacted] to contact me so that I could explain to him myself. I am very sorry for any problems or inconvienance this might have caused. Please either have Mr [redacted] contact me or we will upon parts arrival. Sincerely [redacted]

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I took them copies of two forms where the headliner was noted. the first one was when they did the first oil change at 5,000 miles.. It shows me that all they care about is getting your money, and to [redacted] with anything else..

Review: CALLED TO INQUIRE ABOUT A VEHICLE ADVERTISED ON HALEY TOYOTA'S WEBSITE. SPOKE TO A CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE WHO CONFIRMED THE VEHICLE WAS AVAILABLE AND AT THE LOCATION IN ROANOKE, VA. I SET UP AN APPOINTMENT BUT DECIDED TO MAKE SURE VEHICLE WAS STILL THERE THE NEXT MORNING AND WOULD BE COMING TO PURCHASE. INTERNET SALES AGAIN CONFIRMED VEHICLE WAS ON THEIR LOT AND WOULD BE READY FOR ME. AFTER TRAVELLING MORE THAN 3/4 OF THE WAY THROUGH A 45 MINUTE DRIVE, I RECEIVED A CALL CLAIMING THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN RELOCATED. I ARRIVED AT DEALERSHIP TO WORK A WAY TO RECOVER SAID VEHICLE AND WAS TOLD HE COULD NEVER SELL IT AT THE ADVERTISED PRICE THAT WAS ON HALEY TOYOTA'S WEBSITE. I FEEL THIS ADVERTISING IS DECEITFUL IF EACH LOT IS ENTITLED TO NOT HONOR THE ADVERTISED PRICE AS WELL AS MISLEAD WHERE THE VEHICLE IS ACTUALLY LOCATED. DOES SAID VEHICLE EXIST? AND IF SO, DO THEY EVER PLAN ON HONORING THE ADVERTISED PRICE?Desired Settlement: WOULD HAD PREFERRED TO ACCEPT THE ADVERTISED PRICE AS WELL AS A FAIR OFFER ON MY TRADE, NOT THE LOW BALL OFFER MADE TO DISSUADE ME FROM PRESSING THE ISSUE OF THE SEEMINGLY FALSE ADVERTISED LOCATION AND PRICE OF A GHOST VEHICLE

Response:

There was some confusion at the start, as to when customer first inquired. When they responded it went to two of the 11 Haley stores. One in Richmond where the car was and one in Roanoke where the car was not. Our representative from the Roanoke store is the person who actually called and informed customer that vehicel was not here in Roanoke. After working through some of the confusion customer has purchased said vehicle from The Haley of Roanoke store and it was sold at the advertised price and the customer is happy with the results they recieved.

Review: On 17 Aug 2013 I purchased a used Vehicle from Haley Toyota in Roanoke Virginia. This vehicle was advertised as a Toyota Certified Used Vehicle. At the time of purchase, no Carfax report was offered by the dealer even though the disclaimer from Toyota states that a Carfax report will be provided with every Certified Vehicle. In September while having the Vehicle detailed to try to eliminate the cigarette odor from the interior, it was noted that the Vehicle has been wrecked. Passenger front fender, Passenger front door and back door has sustained significant body damage and paint does not match the Factory Original. After reviewing the Toyota specifications for Certified Used Vehicles, it has been noted that "any excessive paint/body repair" disqualifies the Vehicle as being Certified Used Vehicle. If I would have recieved a Carfax report on purchase or would have been informed of the history (wrecked) I would not have made purchase. This vehicle should not have been classified as Toyota Cerified Used nor should it have been eligible for the financing and warranty options avaialbe to Toyota Certified Used Vehicles. I have filed a complain with Toyota, File number [redacted], the representative at Toyota said that someone from the dealership would contact me with 3 business days. Haley's used car Manager contacted me the same day and set up an appointment with me to address my concerns. This appointment was for 7 October 2013. When I went to meet the Haley representative, he was not at work on 7 October 2013. I will try again on Friday, 11 October 2013.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is for Haley Toyota to Cancel the contract and take the Vehicle back. A stated above, If I would have known at the time of sale that the Vehicle was wrecked, I would not have bought it.

Response:

Dealer spoke with customer and offered apology for scheduling misunderstanding. dlr had scheduled for the meeting on Monday October 14 not the 7. Dlr discussed concern with customer and is in working process to trade customer into another Tundra. Customer spoke with our gsm [redacted] and is happy with decision. Now we are are just working on the right truck for Mr [redacted]. He seemed happy with all. Sincerly, [redacted]

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Original meeting with [redacted] was for Monday, 7 October. Not 14 October as per business response. This is a non issue. Although the Business Is trying to find an acceptable Tundra, I reserve the right to void the original sale. I will not pay any additional cost or fees if an acceptable replacement is found. If no acceptable vehicle is found, I request the dealership to void the original sale.Regards,[redacted]
