Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/07/08) */
The plywood we stock is the same plywood Premier Marine and most other pontoon manufactures use in building high quality boats used as the floor materialWe do not know what she was using the plywood for, but is a marine grade for flooring on
pontoonsIt is not to be used for cabinets, furniture, wainscoating or other interior type of work
If she is unsatisfied we will make a 100% refund the return is made during the month of July- -
We regret that it does not meet her requirements land have no idea where she can purchase the product she needsWe sell 100's of sheets of plywood each year and have had no complaints
WE will not be offering any price adjustment as our price is a very fair price
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/07/09) */

First off I'm a "he" not a "she" but that's about the kind of business Hallberg Marine has been, they don't know their customers or productsWhy can you not prove the grade of your wood, is there no purchase order for this product? I purchased stuff that was $cheaper a sheet at a local store that is stamped AB marine grade (which Hallberg Marine wasn't, and from my research all "Marine Grade" usually is) and does not have a single unpatched knot on either side of the wood (It's times better quality), and it's also more layersI would appreciate you not lying to your customers about the grade of your plywood if you don't know what it isYou knew the wood was not for a pontoon when I called four times, it was for a boat with cuts that needed to be madeI'm going to return the plywood this weekend as pieces just fall off of this junk and it's not worth my suggested adjustment of $a sheetWell there's nothing that Hallberg Marine will do even though they have used false/deceptive advertising (Also small claims court to expensive for the total cost of the products I purchased), so I hope the Revdex.com can do something to stop future customers from being mislead and ripped off

I have read the complaint by *** ***The boat was picked up out of storage on May 21" and her
complaint came on May 26thWhen we take boats out of storage we line them up in a row so they are easy for the customer to pickup
IN reviewing her pictures it would appear to me that she had prior damage and it would appear that some one has tried to touch up this area-
In reviewing per photos we feel that the resale on this boat which is a package that here resale value is not affected by the marks we see
Also, had we did the damage to the boat as she suggest then the motor should also have damage as if backing up a boat the motor would hit a object before the boat and the motor would have extensive damage
Our storage manager, Paul ***, a year employee is very careful and if he sees damage he reports
itI sincerely do not feel that Hallberg Marine caused this damage and I do not feel it will effect her value
If she feels differently I suggest she contacts her insurance company and review this with them

Much of the information you provided is incorrectWe picked up the boat on May and I called that same day, as soon as we got home and saw the damageI was told I needed to speak with the service manager and that he was out of town until May 26th (It was Labor Day weekend)I was told they would leave a message for him to call meAnd, the boat is a package that we purchased brand new in 2013, not The value would be affected

Sorry for my mistake, but her boat package is a 2012, not a I do not feel that the damage she has will effect the resale at allIf she feels that it will effect the value she should contact her insurance company and see if they can come to an agreementWe are sorry for not agreeing to fix her boat but once the merchandise leaves our facility we do not accept any responsibility

Sorry, but we are unable to make an adjustment for this complaint. Minnesota does not use a license plate holder, as they for the past several years have gone to a life time license fees, and they send the customer a sticker that is to be...

attached to the frame. Likewise, Wisconsin has not licensed trailers since I don't know when and that is where Mr. [redacted] used his trailer.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Let me try and clarify this. You're saying that your business removed and discarded my license plate holder without my consent in 2012 because state law didn't require it? That's how you justify charging me to put it back?
I'm active duty military. When you worked on my boat in 2012 I was pending assignment to Connecticut where I lived for two-and-a-half years. While there I had to register the trailer and install a license plate, at which point I discovered that mine had been removed. Now that I'm back in the area I'm simply asking for you to replace what you removed. Why is this such a big issue? You verbally acknowledged that you worked on the part in question, and it's a $15 charge on a $238 work order.
