Hall's Contracting Lawn Service Reviews (3)

Review: I had Hall contracting come out to my residence to do yard grading, topsoil, and seeding. I have called them on several occsasions to please come out and finish the job. For the past 2to 3 weeks [redacted] has been avoiding my calls. All I ask is to finish the job I paid for.

The entire yard needs reseeding. I have bare spots everywhere in my lawn. And with the amount of rain we have had recently it looks like a big mud pit!Desired Settlement: All I ask to to come out and professionally finish the job.

Response:

I spoke with [redacted] from the business and he states that he did work for the consumer that was not in the contract. He also stated that once he puts down the seeding, he has no control over what mother nature does at the point. He also stated that the consumer has not paid him all of his money and he will not go back out to the consumer's home to do the reseeding.

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I spoke with [redacted] and he stated that he did pay in full and the business only did half of the yard in straw. He had to pay extra for the topsoil for the company to do the work.

Response:

I spoke with [redacted] from the business and he stated that he put more seeding down then what he should have and it is not his responsibility once it is laid down. He also stated that he charged the consumer $1,500 for a $5,000 job and seed, fertilizer and topsoil was put down and the consumer's yard.

I just received your email in regards to [redacted] response. He said I said paid him 1500 dollars for a 5000 dollar job. I showed you proof I paid him 2400 dollars. Grading and seeding this lot is not 5000 dollars. Please send me all correspondses we have had as I will take this matter up in civil court. Thanks for all your help.

The customer was told the cost of the original plan would be 18,000-$20,000. During the job she continued to add additional projects to the list of things to do but did not want to pay an increased price. The business kept the totally of the job at $20,000 but the customer has only put out about $15,000.

Review: I made a verbal contract with this contractor to clear brush from around my house and to level my driveway. He was paid in full prior to starting work in front of a witness. The contractor failed to identify my underground gutter drainage before starting work or after he dug up the first pipe causing damage to all piping in the work area. The piping was clearly visible at each down spout. He threw the piping into the woods. He also did poor work clearing the area leaving roots and vines above ground. He failed to grade the driveway.

I have called him repeatedly asking him to come and complete the work. He has agreed to return but never returns. I have a witness who heard him make this promise while on speaker phone.

Three businesses are operating at this address. A check with Chesterfield County found he does not have a business license for any of the businesses [redacted]

A check with Virginia Contractor's Bureau, Virginia DPOR, found there was no contractors license issued for his address.

A similar complaint is already in the Revdex.com records.Desired Settlement: Have contractor complete work as agreed and repair damage done without further excuses or delays.
