We would like to respond to Ms. [redacted]' experiences at our coin laundry in Vevay, Indiana. We have a posted policy in place that responds to our customer’s needs, problems, and concerns. This includes mechanical failures of our machinery. Our store is a self-serve laundry. We have an attendant on duty twice a day, seven days a week, to clean and respond to problems with our customers and equipment. Given the fact that the machinery is used 24 hours per day, seven days per week, we will inevitably have machines that malfunction , on any given day. We have service technicians that maintain our 15 store locations. They quite often find that the problem lies with the customer not inserting the proper amount of money into the machines, causing them to not start. The dryers typically cause very little problems for our customers, as they are simple to operate We always recommend that customers only insert one quarter into the machines, to ensure that they will start, and will heat properly. We find that customers often will insert several quarters, so that they may leave the premises for a period of time, and find upon their return that the dryer did not work. We will only refund for one cycle, 25 cents, on dryers, for the reasons stated above.Our refund policy has been unchanged since the store opened in 1987. Customers that lose money in our washers, dryers, coin changers, and vending machines are instructed to leave their name and contact phone number for the Manager, who then reconciles the refunds with the Owner, and contacts the customer to return their money. We can only reason that Ms. Fox did not follow the posted instructions on money insertion.

 Wow, so this business, although they finally refunded the money, wants to insult my intelligence. First off somehow it is not too difficult to figure out how to insert a quarter into the slot of a washer or dryer...didn't know I needed to read the invisible posted directions, being college educated and all. Somehow I think if I can put a needle into someone's vein and draw blood that I can handle a quarter in a dryer. With that being said, this location has no signs posted as to these so called directions let alone contact information when their equipment fails. And they so not maintain these machines on a regular basis. If they did then the same machines that are posted out of order wouldn't be out of order for weeks and months on in. And the problems I had were not on improper insertion of a quarter. Put a quarter in one and the tumbler did not work....or on many the heating elements have gone bad. Really hard to dry clothes with no heat being produced. Or you have the ones that it just takes your 1 quarter and does not give you any time on the machine. And there is no return slot to try and get the lost money back. I am no longer going to this laundromat and will never use them again. For them being so regularly maintained, why is it that just last week when I went to the library across the street I decided to take a look to see if anything had been fixed, and all the same machines down plus the addition of almost a whole row of washers out of order, and I would bet that they won't get fixed for quite some time. So no this isn't resolved, and it won't be until they fix that rundown dump for the people of Vevay and surrounding area instead of running it similar to what slum landlords do.
