Review: There are many issues with this business but mainly that I went in for an eye exam on July 3rd and I was supposed to have my contacts a week later. It is now August 26th and I still do not have my contact and they will not give me my prescription. I tried to order my contacts from [redacted] and they refused to provide the prescription to them. So I have no contacts and my old contacts are too old to wear but luckily I have an old pair of glasses. The company forgot to order the contacts on July 3rd, then stated the brand I wanted was discontinued on July 9th but I contacted the contact company after seeing a commercial for them and they are not discontinued. I confronted them about it on July 16th and they lied again but said they would order them. I called two weeks later July 30th after they said I would receive a call when they came in and never did, again they were never ordered. So I spoke to Judy at the corporate office in Dover, she set up an appointment for me for August 5th and said she would make sure the contacts were there in the Bear location and to go there then to get my contacts. [redacted] called me from the Bear location August 5th to cancel my appointment and told me the doctor had an emergency and would need to reschedule to August 13th. Then [redacted] called again and canceled that the doctor wasn't in the office. I asked if I could just pick up my contacts or have my prescription that I would rather go somewhere else and she got the Office Manager on the phone, Dana, and said she would email the doctor and call me back tomorrow the 14th, she never did. I called back the 14th and spoke to [redacted] and she said they carry the -2.5 contacts in stock but I'm supposed to try two pairs and the doctor wants to look at my eyes with them on but they don't have the -2.25 contacts that they want me to try first and will not give me my prescription until I've tried both contacts and see which is better. But it is almost 2 months later and this is not resolved and I cannot go to another eye doctor without having to pay cash for it because I can only get one eye exam a year and they already performed it. I would like to file a complaint against this company and think that they should not be able to run a practice with this going on.Desired Settlement: I would like them to refund the insurance company or myself so that I can go get an eye exam elsewhere without having to pay for it and my contacts so that I can get a prescription without all the hassle they provided and lies. I just want my contacts and this company to make it right, but I will never go there again after all of this and will spread the word of mouth about this horrible company that cannot even apologize and follow up with their customers properly. An apology would be very nice from them.

Review: -On 11/24/14 my husband paid the $142 full balance due (after insurance) for a pair of glasses from Halpern Eye Center in Bear, DE.

-We waited a few weeks and weren't aware that the glasses had come in until I called to check on them. My husband then went to pick up the glasses only to discover that the wrong prescription had been ordered. We were assured by [redacted]l that she would handle the situation and order the correct prescription.

-Once again I had to follow up myself to find out when the glasses had come in. My husband went back again to discover that the glasses were in the same incorrect prescription. The glasses had to be reordered again!

-On January 8, 2015 I finally called and spoke with the manager, [redacted], and informed her that I was preparing to file a complaint with the Revdex.com. She assured me that she would verify the prescription herself and overnight the glasses to us as we had since moved two hours away.

-Later on January 8, 2015 - almost 2 months after paying for and ordering his glasses, [redacted]d called and left a voicemail (which I still have) stating that the prescription had been verified, the glasses were being overnight delivered and that [redacted] was going to issue a $50 refund.

-We did receive the glasses on 1/9/15, they were the right prescription, I felt a $50 refund was reasonable and so I waited to see the refund. I provided 10 business days.

-No refund has ever been issued. I called the store back on Wednesday 1/21/15 and asked to speak to [redacted]. I was told by [redacted] that [redacted] was in Texas. I asked then to speak to [redacted]l. [redacted] told me that [redacted]l was busy with patients. I explained the situation to [redacted] who told me that she would check with [redacted]l and call me back. [redacted] did call me back and informed me that [redacted]l would text [redacted] and ask what to do and I would be called back the next day (Thursday).

-On Friday 1/23/15 I received a voicemail message from [redacted] stating that [redacted]l said [redacted] would be back next Monday and they would all figure it out then.Desired Settlement: I am done waiting, being put off, being treated this way and taking my time to follow-up with this incompetent, uncaring, unprofessional group of people.

This is hands down the sorriest excuse for customer service that I have ever experienced. It is shameful!

At this point I want a FULL refund for our out of pocket expenses.

This company was paid for the glasses from our insurance company and for all the time, trouble & energy that I have had to put into following up - doing their job for them - I want to be fully compensated the entire $142.
