Review: A roommate and myself recently moved out of an apartment- [redacted] in Hamden. I did the departure inspection with the company on 9/30- The gentleman that I was with- stated at that time that there were a few 'traffic areas' on the carpet and 'it might be an issue'. He stated that he had to take the information back for review.

(Our carpets were in great shape- and the apartment was thoroughly cleaned when we moved out.)

We were informed that we would not be told if we were going to loose our deposit or if they were deducting anything from it- we would either receive a check or not. Today I received a Move Out Statement with the Tenancy Clearance Sheet- that I had signed at the inspection. This clearance sheet was altered after I signed it.

It originally listed "couple spots master, guest, traffic- have checked."

Newly added items- written in after I had signed it- Treat spots- $320 and replace Master bedroom carpet- $356.

They held $676 from our security deposit.

As I said, I would like to make a formal complaint against them somehow. I will concede to the charge for the spot cleaning for $320, But there is absolutely no way that they needed to replace the master bedroom carpet. I feel they are running a scam.Desired Settlement: Refund of security deposit held of $356 for carpet replacement.
