Dear AZ Revdex.com,
I am contacting you in response to Ms*** ***'s complaint filed against meI would first like to state that prior to receiving Ms***'s vehicle, it was taken to a body shop for repair in New JerseyMs*** was unhappy with the work done at this shop & when she
went to get her vehicle from said shop she demanded her car from them with refusal of payment- so my first issue with her complaint is, if she was so unhappy with my shop's work, why did she not refuse us payment? Prior to her picking up her vehicle I contacted Ms*** requesting more time with her vehicle as there were some things that I was not finished with & wanted more time with the vehicle to be able to complete, this includes some areas of overspray which were not on the outside of the vehicle but on rubber gaskets and underneath, alignment of the hood, & gas gauge reading- Ms*** refused to allow an extra day at the shop stating that she was on a tight schedule and could not postpone her trip by one daySo to be clear, prior to her showing up for pick up, she was aware that I needed more time with her vehicle for minor thingsWhen Ms*** arrived at the shop around 7pm I was still working on the vehicle & she herself assisted in the aligning of the hood, she was the one who tested out the fog lights & discovered they were not working, but did not allow any extra time for them to be fixed- she stated that she was not sure whether or not they were in working condition when she removed her car from the last body shop because she had not checked them, then stated that she would be stopping along on her route by a friend's who was a mechanic & would have him check them out for herMs*** witnessed us working non-stop to try to complete any unfinished details, at which time I offered to bring the car to her the following morning but she declined & said she would wait & take the car herself, she had hours of time walking around the car to point out any problems/issues or things she was unhappy withBefore leaving the shop around 1am, she sat inside our office, at which time we discussed her final balance due, which both her & I agreed upon taking $off of the final balance, she felt this was fair, paid her balance by check & took her carWe kept in contact with Ms*** throughout her trip home & made sure there were no overheating issues, she stated it was running fine, that the windows did not leak & she got home safelyMs*** had no complaints during her trip home to report so we cashed the check & assumed everything was fineAbout 3-weeks later we received an email listing all kinds of things that she had previously had no issues withI was under the assumption that the $we had taken off was to cover any minor issues we did not have time to resolveI told Ms*** that I thought the brakes looked ok, and she was aware that nowhere in her total was she charged for the replacement of her brakes because they were not changedNow months later Ms*** is requesting $6,back which is absolutely WAY more than any work needing to be done to make that car 100%I told Ms*** when she left that I warranty my paint job, & would be happy to fix any issues she had with the paint job if she wanted to ship it back to me for myself to go overI will Not however, pay for another shop to repaint her car- this has always been company policy, while we stand by Our work, all sales are final & we do not refund any cash paymentsMs*** had ample time to go over her car in the time she was at my shop, and I'm sure she walked around the car & looked at it constantly over the course of her 3,mile journey home to NJ, so if she had any issues with the quality she should have either refused payment, requested more than the agreed upon $we took off, or even stopped payment on her check- she did None of these thingsI am sorry that Ms*** is unhappy with it now, but aside from her sending it back to me for it to be handled within in my own shop there is nothing I can do for herAs far as her stating that she needs new brakes & rotors, I thought that they looked in good condition when I looked at them in my shop, did not include replacing them in her balance, but if she now, after driving the car across the country, has discovered that they need to be replaced- fine she may send me a bill for the brake pads/ rotor replacement & I will refund her that amount since I did not think it was needed & did not replace them before she left.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
To Whom It May Concern,

I received [redacted] of Hamilton’s Restorations response from AZ Revdex.com. I attempted to contact him several times, left messages for him to return my car regarding his warranty work. To date, I have not heard from him.  In his response, Mr. Hamilton indicated he wanted to have my car a couple of extra days.  First, the work to be redone would require more than a few days since he did not match the paint color, the paint peeling off the rear of the car among other defects. Secondly, I went to his shop twice on the day I was supposed to pick the car up. First time was later in the day and the second time was in the evening. This was at his request, because he advised that the car wasn’t finished. The car was in pieces and I have witnesses that lighting at his shop was poor where you couldn’t see a thing to do a final inspection.  When I reached my New Jersey destination, I sent Mr. [redacted] an email with my complaints and he never responded to the email nor did he call me since he does have my phone number. I took his word that he did just a good job as his father because I’ve used his father in the past several times before.  His father did excellent work and I was always satisfied, that’s why I came back and used his son, [redacted].

We kept in contact with Ms. [redacted] throughout her trip home & made sure there were no overheating issues, she stated it was running fine, that the windows did not leak & she got home safely. Ms. [redacted] had no complaints during her trip home to report so we cashed the check & assumed everything was fine. About 3-4 weeks later we received an email listing all kinds of things that she had previously had no issues with. I was under the assumption that the $500 we had taken off was to cover any minor issues we did not have time to resolve. I told Ms. [redacted] that I thought the brakes looked ok, and she was aware that nowhere in her total was she charged for the replacement of her brakes because they were not changed. Now months later Ms. [redacted] is requesting $6,000 back which is absolutely WAY more than any work needing to be done to make that car 100%. I told Ms. [redacted] when she left that I warranty my paint job, & would be happy to fix any issues she had with the paint job if she wanted to ship it back to me for myself to go over. I will Not however, pay for another shop to repaint her car- this has always been company policy, while we stand by Our work, all sales are final & we do not refund any cash payments. Ms. [redacted] had ample time to go over her car in the time she was at my shop, and I'm sure she walked around the car & looked at it constantly over the course of her 3,000 mile journey home to NJ, so if she had any issues with the quality she should have either refused payment, requested more than the agreed upon $500 we took off, or even stopped payment on her check- she did None of these things. I am sorry that Ms. [redacted] is unhappy with it now, but aside from her sending it back to me for it to be handled within in my own shop there is nothing I can do for her. As far as her stating that she needs new brakes & rotors, I thought that they looked in good condition when I looked at them in my shop, did not include replacing them in her balance, but if she now, after driving the car across the country, has discovered that they need to be replaced- fine she may send me a bill for the brake pads/ rotor replacement & I will refund her that amount since I did not think it was needed & did not replace them before she left.
