Hamilton Solar has the worst customer service that I have experienced. They left my roof in disrepair and the monitoring system only works part of theI am amazed that the solar panel project was actually completed and commissioned. Most of the information that I was given was not correct. For instance, I requested information on how long the inspection process would take so that I could plan my schedule. I was told that it would take about 2 weeks. I called after 2 weeks and Hamilton Solar said that [redacted] was holding up the process. I then called [redacted] and they told me that their inspections were about 2 months out. (This information was correct). However, the city inspection of the project had not been completed. One morning at 5am, without any notification, Hamilton Solar's installers were on my roof correcting their installation so that it would pass inspection. After the commissioning, I had a licensed roofer inspect the roof for damage and found that there was about $500 of damage as a result of the solar panel installation. When I sent this information along with photos of the damage to [redacted] at Hamilton Solar, this was her reply: "You have a tile roof, every time you send someone up there to do an inspection they break tiles. It is the nature of tile, you cannot go up there, walk around and not break tiles. They will break more tiles while doing the repairs." I am confident that a roofer can fix a roof without causing more damage. The second issue is that the monitoring system that is supposed to monitor how the panels are working, only works part of the time. The system was not working: 1/30/2016 9:18:38 AM and 3/5/2016 6:18:37 PM. Though I called Hamilton Solar, nothing was done. I would like to have my roof repaired by a licensed roofer and have the price of repair deducted from my bill. I would also like Hamilton Solar to take responsibility for keeping the monitoring system online or give me information on how I can contact [redacted], directly to let them know that their system is offline.Desired SettlementAs I stated above: 1. I would like to have my roof repaired by a reputable licensed roofing company and have this deducted from my final bill or they fix it with proof that no further damage was done, 2. Consistent monitoring of my system.Business Response Hamilton Solar has been in contact with [redacted] regarding her roofing repairs. We have offered to pay for her roof tiles to be replaced by the contractor she will or has chosen. At this time we are waiting for [redacted] to have her repairs completed and submit the information to Hamilton Solar.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)Their response is correct. Hamilton Solar has agreed to pay for the roof repairs. I am waiting for a second estimate. After second estimate, I will send the information to Hamilton Solar.
