Review: Hammill Construction was hired to be my contractor. He was to completely replace my roof and put in a brand new back patio. Hammill Construction took short cuts by not replacing everything on the roof (drip edge, roof vents, tar paper, fire place flashing, etc.) There were several times when I had to call Mr. Hammill because I was not satisfied with the way the job was going and he would say please let me finish before you make your complaints. Since the job has been finished I have tried to contact Mr. Hammill several times to come and fix some of the additional problems I have been having. He came out two times to fix the leaks and every time it leaked again. My brand new roof is leaking and causing additional damage to my house. My son had to climb on the roof and found many shingles not even nailed down. My fireplace is now leaking worse than it ever has before. My brand new patio has 13 leaks and all my belongs are getting wet under there. He suggested that he would come and caulk the leaks... why should a brand new snap together patio need to be caulked, which did not work. He put caulking around the fire place where it was leaking to fix that, which did not fix the problem either. Again why would a new roof need caulking. He refuses to come back and will not return my phone calls or text messages since he's been paid in full. My front gutters were also damaged due to the ladder they used to get on the roof which have been leaking since. He said he would replace them at his cost, but again he has never showed up. We are at a loss as of what to do now, since the money we received from the insurance company to fix these problems has been paid to him. Now I have more damage than I had before and no money to pay someone else to come and fix these problems. We have even went to see a lawyer about this and Brad Hammill was sent a certified letter but again no response. I could not afford to go any further with the lawyer due to the high cost it would have been. Desired Settlement: I would like Hammill Construction to reimburse the full amount that I paid. My insurance company is threatening to drop me if I do not get the problems fixed. I cannot afford to spend the additional money plus what I paid Hammill Construction to fix it. I do not feel confident that Hammill Construction can fix the problems the correct way. I feel everything needs to be torn off and started from scratch.
