In January of 2012, my wife ordered a set of barrister's cabinets for $700 from Hampshire Antique Furniture through a guy named [redacted] whose email is (was) [redacted]@comcast.net. We were told very clearly in the item description "pickup anytime no charge." We emailed [redacted] that it would be a while but that we'd drive up to MA and get it and he was very agreeable with that. It took us longer than we expected to have a window to go up there but were ready to head up there in November 2012. [redacted] didn't answer the first few emails but then finally said on 27 December "the buisness was sold 3 months ago and now there is 3 owners- any funriture that was not picked up or hadn;t been for 90 days was auctioned off. I see this was almost a year ago which is way over 90 days and I don;t remember any contact before oct sale- getting the new owners to cash back I can tell you most likely wont happen- there not responsible and since my share was sold I can;t be either- the only thing I can do is talk with them about getting another bookcase and some how work it out- let me know if this is an option." I emailed him back on 2 January 2013 that the original description said "pickup anytime" and imposed no time limit and that we definitely felt that we were owed exactly what is in the photos, something exactly like it, or, less ideally, exactly the amount that we send him in refund. I never heard back and emailed again on 14 January again without response. The last email I sent to him was on 18 July stating that we were "investigating other means to resolve this in our favor" and have heard nothing back.Product_Or_Service: Macey antique oak 3-sectional barristers bookcaseDesired SettlementWe feel we are owed exactly what is in the photos, something exactly like it, or, less ideally, exactly the amount that we send him in refund. A refund seems most desirable at this point.
