Mr*** *** did indeed stay here with us from July 6th until his departure on August 17th. Mr*** did not make his initial reservation for days or longer and each time he extended it was in two week increments. Based on current Arizona tax law Mr*** was unable
to show intent to stay plus days based on his initial reservation and subsequent extensions therefore he does not become tax exempt. I did share this reasoning with Mr*** on several occasions along with sharing the applicable Arizona tax code, however Mr*** feels that this law does not apply to him and should be refunded. I have tried to explain to Mr*** that each state has different tax law and just because he was except in a similar situation in another state does not mean that he is tax exempt in Arizona. I did reach out to our accounting team to ensure that our understanding was still the relevant tax code and have been assured that it is indeed. I offered to speak with Mr*** over the phone again to discuss this however he will no longer return my calls. I would be more than happy to work with Mr*** to again explain why his reservation does not meet the required intent to stay days that Arizona has established but he no longer wishes to discuss this with meAttached you will find a copy of the Admin tax code that indicates the requirement of the day stay intention along with a letter I wrote at MrFerguson's request to his company as to why he was not tax exempt and why no refund has been nor will be issued
