We stayed at the Scottsburg, Indiana Hampton Inn on June 27th. We were coming back from South Carolina and had to redirect our hotel stay due to the looting/rioting in Louisville, KY. We found this Hampton Inn on our way back. I have contacted both customer relations and the manager of the local Hampton Inn, but they just stopped communicating with me after I asked for at least half of the fees back. We feel for 130 dollars in a rural area for a 3 star hotel should have been much better. First, the doors did not lock inside our room and they were actually not closing properly. So safety is our first issue. Due to the new Covid restrictions/regulations we didn't see anything in regards to cleaning measures. The prior two hotels were at during that week were in compliance and so much better. Also, they did not have anyone at the front desk to help field questions when we were in need of help since our doors wouldn't lock! It took us 10 minutes to check in because their front desk person was out side! On our way out the next morning we wanted to let them know about our dissatisfaction but again no one was present. We just feel with the cost and what we got as a service/product didn't seem to equal itself. I have sent two messages to both parties, (customer service at Hilton, and Colton(manager) at Scottsburg, IN Hampton Inn. I would like for them to respond to me, I have been a loyal customer and just feel this was not handled properly.

We have issued a service recovery for the full amount of the room, $130.61. The Clean Stay program was not mandatory to start until July 15th. We did not have the necessary products during the time period, nor the trained staff to start the program, as mentioned to the guest at the time of the file. We did have proper signage for social distancing, masks recommended (until July 15th they were not required for Guests). The only communications from the guest was via our Hilton contact of Guest Assistance, where we closed the file since the file only stated the guest was unhappy that Clean Stay had not started. Due to limited staff and trying to keep guest satisfaction all departments including Front Desk are responsible for Breakfast. I do see that the guest send in a complaint about the door not locking which is an issue with renovation. We have passed the information on to the renovation team. The guest did not have any stay related issues that were reported to the front desk/ breakfast. Thank You,*** / ***Hampton Inn and Suites by Hilton

I pre booked a room at this hotel. During my stay, the front counter made a rate adjustment lowering my total cost. The manager, ***, flatly refused to issue the refund and told me to contact Hilton hotels directly. Hilton has referred me back to the hotel.
