Review: My family and I stayed at the Hampton inn in dec 2012, my daughter had previously booked and paid for the accommodation for $1507.47 on the **/10/12 on her credit card. 2days following checkout on the **/12/12 the hotel charged my credit card an extra $175.56 without notification or authority from myself. We had not used anything that may have accrued this charge. Finally, on the **/6/13 they refunded that amount stating they had overcharged me, but at the same time they credited my daughters credit card with $1507.47 , but debited my credit card with that same amount, again without authority from myself. ( I'm not sure why they did this double transaction and to date the hotel have not been able to explain this to me). Each transaction on my Australian credit card attracts an overseas fee of approximately $45. Following several emails and phone calls to the hotel, they reversed the charges of $1507.47 on both my daughter credit card and mine on the 4/*/13, again attracting overseas transaction fees on my credit card. Throughout the conversations the hotel stated they would refund 1 nights accommodation plus provide my daughter with a voucher for a free nights accommodation at any Hampton inn. They have not honoured this and I am very disappointed with the service from the hotel. It has taken 6 months of emails, phone calls to have this sorted, plus the unauthorised use of my credit card is very disturbing. I am happy to provide a paper trail of all correspondence. I would appreciate any assistance or advice you may be able to provide in regard to this issueDesired Settlement: The hotel should honour their initial offer of a refund of 1 nights accommodation, plus a voucher for another's night at a Hampton inn hotel.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience [redacted] and [redacted] experienced. Our front desk made an error by charging the wrong credit card upon check out. We have since rectified the error and now the charges for the room are on the appropriate credit card. We understand these errors have cost our valued guests overseas transaction fees. Therefore we have credited one night off of their reservation and also sent a free night certificate to compensate them for the transaction fees and for their trouble. We now consider the matter resolved. However, I would be happy to answer any further inquiries or concerns regarding this matter. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly.
