physician group, I understand from reading the complaint that Ms. [redacted] is requesting a reduction on the referenced account per the insurance processing.Our office mailed a claim to the insurance carrier on November 18", 2015 in the amount of $1289.00. Unfortunately, no response was received from the insurance carrier. On January 22", 2016, our office re-sent a claim to the insurance carrier. This claim denied as a duplicate. Regretfully, our office was unaware of the initial processing.Our records indicate that our office, the insurance carrier and Ms. [redacted] spoke on May 2", 2016. It is notated that the insurance carrier confirmed payment was mailed on December 8th, 2015, but not cashed. According to the insurance carrier payment would be reissued within 10 to 15 business days. Typically, insurance payment is accompanied by an explanation of benefits. This documentation reflects claim processing and allows our office to review for any appropriate reductions.I do apologize for the patient's dissatisfaction with our office. I understand that she feels our bill should be reduced. I have received/reviewed the documentation of the initial processing, resulting in a reduction of $23.00.
