This Student placed an order for copyrighted material on 10/18/12:10:EDTIt was delivered to her on 10/21/(UPS Tracker # 1Z501Y2FXXXXXXXXXX)She made a request to return the CD with the materials downloaded on it weeks laterAs
stated she requested a refund within our 30-day windowHowever, after contacting the school we were informed this Student was still enrolled in the class If that is the case, then this Student would need these materials to complete itIf she completed the class without using the assigned materials, then her instructor will be notified of suchIf she is still in the class and is using the materials needed than it is assumed she is using the materials purchased and a refund is not warranted
She is correct in that it does not specifically stipulate in our return policy we do not accept returns on CDs and this is being correctedThe reason is because this is a special project we offer specifically for this school and no otherI am unsure why this Student did not contact a manager to try and resolve her issue instead of lodging a formal complaint but she did not do soIf this Student can furnish proof that she dropped the class by providing appropriate documentation and if she returns the unopened CD back to us, we will refund her money minus the appropriate restocking chargeAs stated in the policy this Student read: "Shipping fees are not refundable and return shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaserNo COD returns will be acceptedReturn shipping fees must be prepaid through UPS, FedEx or DHL for tracking purposes."
Lanier in student services has been made aware of this situation and if this Student calls for the appropriate RMA it will be granted under these conditionsShe can reach student services at XXX-XXX-XXXX

I responded that I don't accept the response, but only because of a time issue I will accept the response if the business will accept the proof for dropping the class on or after November 23rd Let me explain and answer some of your concerns:
I didn't contact a manager because I contacted the company times The first time, was through email and I was told that refunds weren't given on CD'sThe second time was after I called and spoke with someone who told me the exact same thing after I explained the situation I called back again and got the same representative (I hung up because it was pointless)I felt it illogical to continue to contact the business after being told that there was nothing that could be done
I have not dropped the class because I am waiting for the last day in order to try to reach the 60% financial aid payback deadline I am dropping all of my courses because I can't afford to stay in class this semester; I have to return to work If I dropped the course today, I would owe the university around $ If you would have looked into my grades, you would see that I am currently at an "F" because I have not completed one assignments that requires the CD I have not opened it - it is still in the original packaging from the USPS I am waiting until the 23rd to drop it because I can't afford to pay the university the fees I can show the proof that I dropped the course after this dateI can return the CD at anytime because like I said, I haven't used it
I can return the CD now and provide the proof of the dropping the class after the 23rd I wanted to make sure that if the proof isn't turned in until this date that I will still receive my refund I understand that the company wants to make sure that I simply didn't use it and returned it, but as I stated, it is still in the original envelope I received in the mail I can provide a print out of the assignments I haven't completed to substantiate my claims if needed I simply need my money back for a product I didn't use
