HH was hired to repair water damage and fix sourceRepair failed, water continues to flowHH damaged the home by piercing the home's interior
In December I trusted Handy Helper (HH) and *** *** to repair the water damage to the exterior section of my home I paid you upfront*** assessed the source of water damage stating the house needed a gutter on the 2nd floor and he would replace the damaged wood panel I paid him $3,on 12/26/ He called early in the process and said he needed to replace the facial board before installing the gutter, and a beam was damaged and needed replacement He was paid an additional $He did the work eventually I subsequently saw that he had pierced the interior of the home with a wood beam Water continues to run down that section of the house and my home was damaged from the work Handyhelper and *** were contacted and informed of the damage and the unresolved repair workNo one ever responded

Inadequate carport roof repair (1), and did not address electrical repair (2)
On Nov 13, 2017, Mr *** *** gave me a quote for items, including carport roof repair, a porch light, and a plumbing issue Mr*** ***(?) seems to be the site supervisor who managed the work The carport roof was begun on Nov 15, and completed in a few daysPlumbing and electrical required multiple contacts and requests for service, and was completed Dec The electrical was not done, they claimed it was not within the "simple repair" they anticipated An outlet was replaced, which did not address the problem Plumbing seems to be fine now, although the plumber had to readjusts the connection multiple times to stop the leak
I had given Handy Helpers a 1/deposit, and paid the balance promptly on Dec I had questions and concerns over the work, including remaining rotten wood and painting Mr *** states painting was not included in the estimate, and that all else is complete I

Really negative stars, but not an option DO NOT give Tim Feruzzi any money until job is completed to your satisfaction; better yet, DO NOT HIRE HANDY HELPERSI have learned a lesson; now out $for NO WORK and a lot of stressI also noted that MrF has a history of taking money and not completing workI would not allow this business to sweep my sidewalk for free

Failure to complete work in a substantial workmanlike manner; failure to hire skilled workers and failure to replace parts broken by them. [redacted] was hired at the beginning of February to provide the labor to turn my half bath into a full bath in my master bedroom. He was aware of the timeline, as noted in multiple emails, that the job was to be completed by March 19th. I even gave him two extra days at the beginning of the job and told him that it needed to be completed no later than the day of the 20th when my children returned home. This project has been ongoing for 3 weeks now and it is nowhere close to being done due to the following reasons:* Workmanship is subpar and incomplete.* Failure to provide quality workmanship in a timely fashion. * Failure to meet verbally agreed upon timeline of completion.* Failure to uphold statement in proposal; "completed in a substantial workmanlike manner", for which a deposit of $3000.00 was paid in advance.* Failure to provide all rough in plumbing as specified on Proposal; specifically rough in shower valve.* Failure to follow through with framing and insulation inspections for pulled permits pursuant to the City of Raleigh - Inspection Data requirements "Approvals shall be obtained through each phase of applicable inspections, prior to subsequent work in next phase."ï'' Misrepresentation of licensed plumber listed on permitï'' Failure to provide a licensed plumber for services as required * Failure to properly protect hardwood flooring and carpeting from damageï'' Hardwoods are scratched and must be repairedï'' Carpeting in bedroom and closet is damaged beyond repair* Failure to adequately secure property at end of each dayï'' Deadbolt was left unlocked on more than one occasion* Failure to manage the projectï'' Lack of site visits.ï'' Failure to manage subcontractors.ï'' Failure to inspect subcontractors work.ï'' Misrepresentation of skills and abilities of the first subcontractor hired at startup of project; namely, Mark (last name not given)ï'' Project Manager Andrea Lunes, hired by [redacted], failed to perform the duties as acting Project Manager. Failed to manage project in a professional manner and did not regularly inspect project.* In attempt to remedy the subpar workmanship of first sub contractor hired by [redacted]; items were damaged or broken and must be replaced.ï'' Broken floor tiles were to be replaced. As of April 2, 2015; not delivered to project.ï'' Deco tile backsplash was to be replaced. As of April 2, 2015; not delivered to project.ï'' Cultured marble back shower wall was broken. Now, when new wall is produced, it is highly unlikely to match the other two walls. The shower walls, shower pan and any accessories are produced all at once, in order to guarantee an exact match.* Untruthful claim that broken shower panel was ordered, as stated on March 27, 2015. Fact is; it was not ordered as of April 1, 2015, as verified by Lowes, US Marble and Andrea Lunes.Desired SettlementI want my $3000 deposit back to have another General Contractor come in an fix and complete all work and inspections.Business Response /[redacted], I have performed over 80% of the job. It is your choice not to continue with us. We have worked on correcting most of the initial problems caused by us. You created many problems for this project via not supplying us with a properly sized shower for the job, thus requiring a lot of extra work which you have refused to pay for. You also required us to reroute all the plumbing for the vanity and water closet after-the-fact of our contract agreement, and not offering to pay for that. You are also trying to make us pay for floors in your living room that we did not scratch. You have been taking advantage of us in everyway possible. We have tried to help you, but you are unsatisfiable. As stated you have exploited us and accused us of wrongs not committed. We will not refund you any funds and strongly feel you owe us $1280 for all the work as it stands. The covers the $475 changeorder, the $65 valve changeorder on the toilet, the $1400 extra on shower complications, the $575 for rerouting the plumbing for vanity and toilet, and for all the work completed as of now. All that remains to be done is adding screws to the durock cement floor (20minutes), installing the 25 tiles (5 hours), installing the three shower walls (3 hours), purchasing a new wall in shower due to installation issues with sizing problem ($400.82), installing the vanity and water closet (2hours), installing 2 wall tiles (1 hr), misc painting (3 hrs), and misc other small items (4 hours max). We will pursue a mechanics lean if necessary. I recommend that you be proper in your handling of this matter. Thanks, [redacted]Consumer Response /[redacted]/This bathroom project was just finally completed with the CO one week ago. This project ended up taking 11 weeks to complete due to the complications from Handy Helpers that had to be fixed. After I was able to find a new contractor to take over the Permits and complete the project, more problems were found than originally noted. I found that while permits were pulled for the framing and insulation, Handy Helpers never got the inspections done before closing in the walls. The walls had to be reopened and when they did that they found that Handy Helpers had cut studs in the exterior load bearing wall and never put any headers in to stabilize the wall. They also had not attached the drain to the shower underneath the house, which had to be done. The closet door rough opening that they built had to be reframed as well because the header was visibly not level. I had to pay for all of the inspections out of pocket as well as to get the hardwoods they destroyed redone. I did file a complaint with Handy Helper's Liability Insurance company and they paid me for the materials destroyed by Handy Helpers. I am still requesting monetary reimbursement for the amount over the original contract that I had to pay out to get everything fixed, which upon finalization was in the amount of $1500.Final Business Response /[redacted]/My original response letter still stands. Thanks, [redacted]
