Handy Randy's Tree Care Service

Review: On Monday, August 4, 2014 I reached a verbal agreement with Handy Randy's Tree Care Service to trim three (3) trees in the front yard of my rental property, [redacted] in exchange for $75.00 per tree, totaling $225.00. This was the third year in a row we agreed to these terms of service at this property. On Thursday, August 7, 2014 [redacted] Raihl cashed my check, number 162, for $225.00 at First Commonwealth Bank and began work at my house on Tuesday August 12, 2014. My tenants notified me a week later that the work was incomplete and [redacted] had not returned to finish the job. On Monday, August 25, 2014 I called to inquire why only 2 of the 3 trees were trimmed. [redacted] apologized for the incomplete work and explained that he would complete the work as soon as possible. It has been more than 3 months and the job remains incomplete. I requested a refund for the incomplete portion of the job and was denied. I have tried to contact [redacted] several times to request completion of the job or receive a refund with no success. Some of the phone calls I made were either unanswered or the call was not returned. The few times that [redacted] did answer or call back, he had a different excuse why the work wasn't done and promised to complete the work by the end of the week. Excuses ranged from the weather, not enough time in the day, equipment broke down, doesn't have the right equipment, equipment currently at another job site, and not having employees to help. The last time I spoke with [redacted], I told him I wanted a refund. He was very rude to me and hung up on me. He has not answered or returned a phone call since.I was very patient with [redacted] because he did quality work for me in the past and I am very understanding of the struggles that small businesses go through sometimes since my family owns their own small business. I will not use Handy Randy's Tree Care Service in the future.Desired Settlement: I think I should get a full refund for incomplete service, months of waiting, and terrible customer service. I am reasonable and only expect a refund for the incomplete third tree. The agreed unit price was $75.00 per tree. I am no longer interested in having [redacted] come back to the job site and complete the work.
