Review: This is a complaint against HANDYMAN EDDIE , also known as Eddie [redacted] Handyman

Both my wife and I are over 65 years old. **. [redacted] came to our house on several occasions in May and June 2013 to estimate the work and provide a quote . he assured us that he is a fully qualified and licensed by the State of Pennsylvania to perform roofing and plumbing work. He told us that he performs the work to the highest standards and to a complete customer satisfaction.

He gave a license number PA [redacted].

Contract and work agreement

**. [redacted] undertook to perform the following work at our house at [redacted]. [redacted] PA

- replace the leaking sunroom roof

- replace the skylights

- do other restorative work in the sunroom

In addition we agreed, that he to

- replace the outside faucet in the basement

- replace few missing shingles on the main roof (I provided shingles)

He gave us a written estimate and we agreed on the price for complete work for first two items $2400.00. He started the work on July 03, 2013 and then on the next day demanded additional $1200 for the roof .

We agreed with his demand since the roof was open at that time and shingles and plywood were partially removed

Payment in Full

Few days later he assured me and my wife that the work was competed and demanded a complete payment immediately.

As a result of **. [redacted] assurance and our misguided trust we paid you in full.

We paid you $3700 for the roof . You signed a receipt indicating the payment in full

We also paid him $120.00 for the faucet and main roof shingle replacement.

Defective and incomplete work

It became apparent within 24 hrs after **. [redacted]’s departure – in the first rain - that the job was completely faulty

1. The skylight roof is leaking. It appeared that in violation of any common sense and instructions provided by the skylight manufacturer he installed the skylights without any flushing or instillation kits.

The sunroom roof started leaking immediately in the first rain.

2. There are other visible and hidden defects – no seal between gutters and the roof, no edge.

3. He replaced faucet and substituted the copper pipe in the basement with a broken PVC pipe. The connection to the faucet is leaking. He did not attach the faucet to the house wall so it is completely unusable

In fact He broke the bracket that held the old faucet to the house. He removed the copper pipe from our house

4. **. [redacted] left without replacing the missing shingles on the main roof

We tried to contact him many times leaving messages on your phone ###-###-#### without any reply , in particular, I called you July 14, 17 , 22 . My wife called him July 16, 23 and 25 and 28. I sent him several text messages. I sent him an e-mail at [redacted]

**. [redacted] did not respond to any calls. His other phone ###-###-#### is out of service

I drove to the address he wrote on the contract ([redacted] but there was no one

Demand to rectify the defective work or refund the money

As a result of **. [redacted] substandard unprofessional work we suffered considerable monetary damages

We request **. [redacted] to fix his defective work performed in violation of any professional standards without any further delay, in particular:

• Reinstall the skylights using the proper flushing to eliminate leaks

• Install the roof edge and seal between gutters and roof

• Replace the broken pipe and fix the connection

• Replace the missing shingles on the main roof

If he is unable or unwilling to fix the defective work , we request that he refund the money and to repay for professional re-work required to fix your substandard work.

Review: Handyman Eddie repaired my carport six months ago with a five year warranty, the panel inside of the carport (ceiling) fell out I called him numerous times, he has not responded, I also e-mail him to come and resolved the issue.Desired Settlement: Fix the problem.
