Review: After repeated cost over runs and delays in completion of contracted work, now [redacted] is not returning my phone calls and texts for a conversation about completion of project, leaving me with a trench in my front yard and mostly paid for but not completed work.Desired Settlement: Contact me and schedule job completion at my availability, as agreed on, ASAP.

Dear Sir or Madam:

This complaint shows that it was lodged on November 12, 2013. The job was completed and paid in full by November 20, 2013 and **. [redacted] never mentioned that she had sent in a complaint against my company.

Being that the job is now completed, I am unsure as how to answer the complaint, but I can say thait the job had one (1) change order due to additional rock having to be removed at the location of the repairs. **. [redacted] was well aware of the change order and the fact that it would accrue an additional cost to her and she paid said change order with no problem.

As to the complaint of the extended duration of the job, of course there would have been an extension due to the rock. However, **. [redacted] also caused many of the delays due to her work schedule. There were numerous times that we had her on the schedule that she called, emailed, and/or texted stating that she would not be able to meet thus denying us access to the house in order to complete the repairs in a timely manner. Yes, this would certainly push back the completion time and, if needed, I can provide those numerous texts and emails for validation.

On November 20, 2013, **. [redacted] was able to see that the work had been completed and therefore dropped a check to me with the remaining balance of the contract. This job was completed and inspected by the local municipality and passed all inspections.

Review: I CONTRACTED HIM TO BUILD A RETAINING WALL AND FOUR PLANTER BOXES 4X8 FOR MY BACK YARD FOR ( $9301.50 ) AND TO BUILD AN ADDITION ONTO MY HOUSE FOR ($16790.40 ). I SIGNED CONTRACTS WHICH DIDN'T LIST ALL COST TO BALANCE. JUST WHAT HE WAS GOING TO DO AND AMOUNT OWED. I GAVE HIM ( $5800.00 ) DOWN PAYMENT FOR YARD WORK; I ALSO GAVE HIM ($9989.40) FOR THE WORK ON THE ADDITION. A CHECK FOR ($15789.40) ALL TOGETHER ON APRIL 25, 2013

THE NEXT DAY THERE WAS SCHELL DIRT DELIVERED TO MY HOME WITH LARGE ROCKS AND OTHER DEBRIS. THERE WAS NO WORK PERFORMED NO STONE DELIVERED UNTIL 5/12/13, A PARTIAL DELIVERY OF 540 STONES. IT TOOK HIM 19 DAYS TO GET A PARTIAL DELIVERY OF THE STONE, THE REST CAME ON THE 5/14/13, 235 STONES. I CALLED HIM AND WHEN I COULD GET HIM HE WOULD SAY EQUIPMENT PROBLEMS AND WEATHER WAS PREVENTING HIM FROM DOING THE JOB. I KNEW THEN I WAS DUPE INTO WRITING A CHECK FOR $15789.40 AND WOULD BE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THIS PERSON, I SHOULD HAD DONE WHAT I CONSIDERED DOING WHEN HIS SON QUOTED ME A $4990.00 FOR THE YARD WORK IN THE BEGINNING AND HE RAISED IT TO 9301.50. I STARTED TO BACK OUT. BUT I WANTED TO HAVE A NICE YARD WITH STONE PLANTER BOXES.

SO THIS WENT ON FOR JUST UNDER A MONTH AND ONLY THING HE GOT DONE WAS A WALL WHICH WAS NOT CONSTRUCTED IN LINE WITH THE CONTRACT. HE CHANGED HIS WORK TO FIT HIS NEEDS.BECAUSE HIS EQUIPMENT WASN'T WORKING, AND THE JOB TURN OUT TO BE MORE THAN HE PLANNED ON.. I HAD A FEW EXCHANGES WITH HIM WHICH WENT NO WHERE. SO HE CALLS ME AND TELL ME ON THE MAY 16, 2013 HIS EQUIPMENT IS ALL WORKING AND FIXED SO HE WOULD BE OUT ON THE 21ST A TUESDAY AND GET ALL THE SCHELL AND DIRT DELIVERED MOVED AND READY TO SEED. TUESDAY CAME I CALLED HIM THREE TIMES. HE FINALLY CALLS ME AND SAID HE HAD TO PICK UP A PART FOR HIS EQUIPMENT. I TOLD HIM THIS WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE. HE GOT ANGRY AND SAID HE WOULD GIVE MY MONEY BACK. I SAID FINE. THAT WAS HE LAST I HAVE HEARD FROM HIM. HE GOT MY MONEY AND I GOT A EYE SORE IN MY BACK YARD. I TOOK THIS MONEY OUT FROM MY LIFE SAVINGS. I AM A RETIRED NAVY CHIEF WHO HAS BEEN DUPE AND TAKING ADVANTAGE OF BY THIS MAN.Desired Settlement: REFUND MY MONEY AND COME AND GET THE DEBRIS FROM MY BACKYARD.

Review: Handyman Labor Services agreed to scrape, clean, repair, prep. and paint windows trim, front door, and repair all old and damaged caulking around windows. Said work is rushed and sloppy. The vendor filed to show up on the 2nd day of the job claiming that it had rained heavily and that he could not paint when the windows were wet. Further, he failed to call in the aM to tell me that he was not showing up. In fact, it did NOT rain in our area and all was fine and dry. It wasn't until the afternoon that I was able to reach him. In the meantime, I had paid him $1060.00 of the amount due. I stopped payment on the check because I had no indication or confidence that he would ever show up again. Today, he called to tell me that he was going to be 1 hour late. He has yet to show up (1 hour later then his stated arrival time!). He has not returned my call nor responded to my email.

I'm going to let them finish the job (if he ever shows up.) and inspect everything before payment. I will never hire him again.Desired Settlement: I want a job well done and everything cleaned up within 24 hours of might now (10:46 AM EST)
