My name is Jayson H***, I am the owner of Handyman solutionsIn the middle of October I received a call from *** *** regarding a Christmas light installation jobI scheduled an appointment to assess the job*** wanted to use her remaining lights that
they had used in years pastI explained to ***, this would be fine, however there would be no warrantyI explained the lights *** had were incandescentI advised her to upgrade to LEDThey rarely burn out and consommé electricityShe strongly disagreed and said no
Please not at this appointment I did not unstring hundreds of feet of rolled up lights, I opened the containers continuing them and examined them and left for the next appointment for installation*** told me she had many extra bulbs as well roof clips and gutter clips
The proposal amount my job minimum of #plus tax for a grand total of $I require a 50% deposit on all Christmas light installsThis is due to shored window of time and to eliminate last minute cancelationsWe agreed on 11/10/would be the installation date between 10:00am-10:30am
Mr*** was not in any of these arrangements, other than answering the door and simply pointing out where the lights were locatedHe repeated this was his wife's request
On 11/10/myself and my co-worker arrived to do the install on timeWe immediately began to unroll all of ***'s lightsBefore any install we inspect all bulbs and connectionsDuring this period *** had left to her hair appointment, *** *** was left to supervise our installation.After we had inspected the lights it was noticed that at least 80% of all the bulbs were either broken completely or burnt outI asked *** where the other bulbs were and clips that *** said they had, he said everything they have should be in the totesI told *** that there are not any good bulbs and we also need gutter clipsI said we can't complete the install withoutPlease note: (*** was not present during any of these discussions)I told *** if we are going to have to buy all new bulbs maybe this was the time to upgrade to LEDI said it doesn't make sense to throw
good money after bad, that the increscent bulbs green and burn out every yearI told him the LED cost would run about $350.00-and he agreedI told *** we would need to order the bulbs and reschedule the install dateThis date would be continuingent upon delivery of the new bulbsThe next day I ordered the bulbsI put #on my personal credit cardI called the ***'s and left a voicemail with this informationThe amount of the lights and the date of install
One day before the install date my office gets a phone call from *** ***My office girl *** stated she had received a call from a very angry customer, wondering why her lights were not installedTo give you an idea of time this was shortly before ThanksgivingI can pull all my call records if needed*** said the lady was very rude and unpleasantWithin minutes my personal cell phone rangI answered "Hello" I was immediately to indentify myself, that she wanted to speak to Timothy H***I said this is Jayson, she said were you the one at my house? I answered yesShe began to yell at me nonstop, I told *** please do not talk to me this wayI said *** are you going to give me a chance to explainShe said no I want my *** lights put up or my money back, Actually its almost Thanksgiving so I don't see the pointI asked *** if I did not like the fact I asked to speak to ***She continued to scream at meI told her I do not have to take anyone speaking to me in this way and I hung up the phone
Within min the phone rang again from the same numberI answered, it was *** *** was calm with me, I explained the situation he seemed to understandI told him I was driving and someone would call him with the install datethat next day was going to be rain and windHe said that would be fine
The most trusted person in my life is my mother Lisa H***She handles my scheduling at times, design, complaintsShe serves as my advisorI told my mother the story of the breakdown of communication with the ***'s and asked he to attempt to fix it and reschedule
My mother called and spoke with ***, they begin to discuss ***'s discontents with myself, she said that when customers call screaming little can be done to fix anything
She said the conversation quickly turned south and Mr*** grew irritated with her as for scheduling , ordering the bulbs, hanging up etcMr*** then hung up on my mother
This was relayed back to me and I made the decision to cut my losesI returned the lights I had purchasedI gathered all of the ***'s lights I had and delivered them to their home with a letter, which I have included
I spent hours and 15minutes and that does not include any time of ordering parts, pricing up parts, the first visitThis is just time going through their bulb, splicing them to fit their home properlywe hung one row of lights on the first on the install appt
They paid me a deposit of #Had I not done any work, I would have refunded them 100%guys spent (4.25) hours upgrading their Christmas lights, hanging their Christmas lights
My office girl *** and my mother can both be reached as well as my employee that helped with the installI can also provide a wage slip as proof as paid wages for hours for the ***'s job
