Review: Work was not completed professionally or to standard.

Many pickets from indoor and outdoor railing are falling off causing safety issues for young children. Trash was left around my home to include rags and nails again causing a safety concern for my children and dogs. Rails and pickets were not installed correctly or in a timely manner causing the wood to turn colors and to not be waterproof. Majority of the pickets only have liquid nails holding them in and the product was not wiped up before sealant was applied leaving liquid nails visible around the pickets. The nails used to install the railing on front porches are not flush with the wood some are sticking above the wood others are too deep and were not filled before the sealant was applied. Wood on the back deck was broken off the railing and was not repaired or replaced. On the indoor railing huge gaps were left where the wood should be flush and it was not aligned properly leaving a gap on the floor as well. A birds mouth was not cut into the beams supporting the roof, he cut small pieces of wood to fill the gap and they are not secured in any way. Small things that Handyman Today agreed to do verbally were not completed, fix trim around back patio door and fix door latch on upstairs guest bedroom door. This project was only supposed to take 2 weeks and instead took over 2 months. It began 21 Sep 2015 and ended after he was given a 10 day notice to complete, he completed on 1 Dec 2015. I asked for a list of supplies to purchase and was constantly given new items to purchase weekly, causing me to lose more money. When I started this project I told him I wanted to purchase the wood for the project he agreed, but then raised his prices.Desired Settlement: Seeing that I have had to clean up his mess and must now hire a contractor to come and repair all of the mistakes and safety issues so that my home will pass inspection I must have $3000.00 back.

A contractor will cost more money

New wood must be purchased and possibly other products.

The contractor will have to remove any damaged products, sand, and refinish both front porches, back railing, and indoor stair railing.
