The fact is the current clutch disc and pressure plate the customer provided are correct for the truckHowever its mis matchedThere are two setups this truck can useOne is the original set up which includes a dual mass flywheel and the matching clutch disc and pressure plateThe second setup uses an aftermarket solid flywheel and the matching clutch disc and pressure plateEither setup needs the proper parts for it to match up and work correctlyI have explained this several times to the customerBut he refuses to understandCurrently the truck has a solid flywheel with a clutch disc and pressure plate for a dual mass flywheel and will not work properlyThe transmission that we repaired is not the problemWe have checked the internal parts and they are goodPlus he still has a warranty on the transmissionIf the customer purchases the right clutch parts we will still provided the labor free of charge

Sergeant Clutch Discount Transmission & Auto Repair Shop June 15,2015 To Whom It May Concern #[redacted], Mr. [redacted] called our office on the morning of April 17, 2015. He was complaining that his 2002 [redacted] pickup truck with 289,046 miles was having problems such as sputtering, loss of...

power, gas smell, low on motor oil, making noise, and check engine light on. We towed the truck into the shop and performed a Free Performance Check including checking the computer for codes. We found several codes relating to the problem he was experiencing. The codes are as followed P0300 Multiple Cylinder Misfire, P0301 Clinder #1 Misfire, P0302 Cylinder #2 Misfire and P0551 Power Steering Switch Failure. The mechanic also noted the valve cover gaskets leaking, oil sending unit leaking, and oil filter housing seal leaking. At this point in time it would of been incorrect for us to assume he needed a complete engine. The customer was advised of our findings and the recommend repair service. Which included new spark plugs, air filter, throttle body cleaning, pcv valve, valve cover gaskets, oil sending unit and labor. The grand total for the repairs inluding tow bill was $817.50. Mr. [redacted] gave authorization to proceed with the repairs. Once all the repairs were made the truck was started and tested. The truck still showed signs of an engine problem. After further testing and checking of the engine it was determined to be an internal problem with the engine. On April 30, 2015 Mr. [redacted] was explained all the details involing his truck. He approved an Internal Inspection of the Engine for $489.00 on April 30th. After we removed the enigne assembly and inspcted it. We found mulitlpe problems and recommended a replacement engine with the new parts we already put on. Mr. [redacted] was given two estimates to replace the engine and the prior repairs. The first estimate was for a New Long Blok Motor $6,405.78 or $4,815.68 for a used replacement plus any misc parts. At this point the customer was not happy but did ask about payment plans. He expressed interest in the New Long Block estimate for $6,405.78 pending approval for financing and payment plans. Mr. [redacted]'s mother applied for credit with Springleaf financial and wasn't approved. We were able to get him approved with a title lending company up to $2,600.00 pending final evaluation of the vehicle. A week or 2 later Mr. [redacted] called and stated he wanted us to put everything back together and pay what he owed. The total owed is $1,306.00 for the work done to this point. I understand Mr. [redacted]'s frustration but we didn't break his -truck. We went step by step with the diagnosis and recommendations. We have done no wrong in this case. We have yet to reassemble the engine and truck back together. If Mr. [redacted] wishes to pickup the truck as is with the engine dismantled we will settle for $1,000.00. Otherwise we will proceed with the rein station and the total of $1306.00 will be due in full. We will wait to hear from Mr. [redacted] as to what he would like us to do.

When [redacted]'s son first called into the shop he was given a labor only price estimate and estimate for time to complete the job. That estimate was based on the workflow when he first called in. The customer did not bring the car in for several days later. Due too many unforeseen circumstances in the...

repairing of automobiles. We can only estimate, not promise a completion time.   In regards to this vehicle and the noise complaint we have road tested it and checked it. We don't hear any major noises or problems. The car is very noisy with the aftermarket air intake and exhaust. There may be sight noise coming from the clutch throwout bearing but nothing to be concerned with at this time. The throwout bearing is in a place that can not be checked without removing the entire transmission and clutch.   The problem with customers providing there own parts is we have no control over brand quality and part reliability. Anytime a customer provides any part or parts We as the Shop do not give any type of parts warranty. The only part warranty the customer has is any offered by the manufacturer of the part. We give a Workmanship warranty only. Meaning the part or parts were replaced properly. If the part or parts fail the labor charge would be charged again to the customer. The only time a parts and labor warranty is given is when we provide the parts and labor.   We offer Free Towing with certain major repairs. Meaning when we provide the parts and the labor. Not for labor only. In this case we have placed all the clutch parts correctly. There is only one way to put the clutch on correctly. If it was not installed correctly it would not work. In this case the clutch is working. Its not unusual for a throwout bearing to be defective or make noise. But that is not our fault. Its the part manufacturer fault. So if there are any problems with the clutch parts or throwout bearing a labor charge would be due in order to replace the parts again. Its also the customers duty to have the parts warrantied and brought to the shop. As you can see there many issues when customers providing there own parts. We will be happy to go on a road test with the customer to verify the noise and operation of the clutch.   Thank you, Sergeant Clutch Transmissions & Automotive Repair 6557 Walzem Rd. This shop is amazing! I've been bringing my vehicles here for over 7 years and wouldn't trust anyone else with my vehicles. They recently repaired my 1992 Ford F-150 fixing my gas pumps, motor mounts, transmission, and driveshaft, just to name a few. They have always been professional, imformative about repairs needed, and very friendly. I will continue to take my vehicles here and refer everyone I know to Sergeant Clutch.

Sitting here almost 5 hours. 4 hours ago I was told 2.5-3 hour fix. Not one tire is on my car at this point. First they ordered wrong size part and that was a delay. Now three guys are struggling with one brake like they have no idea what to dowith it. Last time I come here!

[redacted]..this is the 3rd time I go to them and every time they inspect it and give me a price..yea they gave me a price and [redacted] said ur truck will be running for the 875$ then they call me two weeks later saying what ever they did to my truck putting all the stuff on they put on never worked??i dont get it..the OTHER times I gone to them they give me one price and fix my cars now its o ur car is not gonna run for the 875$ its gonna take more??i had a honda they fixed for me and when they did there inspection after they gave me a price and said ur car will be running and they ended up fixing iy,but when they called me they told me its ur motor do u wanna fix it I said yes and this is with my honda I had before..so what are they saying they just guessed what the problem was..I fix houses and what ever price I give some one the first time to fix there house.im not gonna go back and be like o the door is not tje issues its ur roof..if I would of known from the start that it was the motor on my truck I never would of let them fix it cause I dont have that kind of money, but no they told me from the start its gonna ne 875$ [redacted] SAID and my truck will be running..what kind of business are they running to be giving people wrong prices and guessing whats wrong..firat its was minor stuff then two weeks later its my motor.doesn't matter how many miles it has it was running good and been running like a champ.they told me 875$ and we will get it running.yes I told them to open my block up I didn't know what to do anymore,I felt like I was being rob and taken advantage..I know how they work..there first inspection schould find the problem rite away like thwy done for me before in the past, but now there test was wrong??i want my truck running for the 875$.ill pay the eztra for them opening my motor but im not paying for a new one or rebuilt..I was told it would be running for the 875$..I guess I need to bring the news into this..cause this is not rite at all..I guess the third time me going to them was the charm they screwed me..

On May 3, 2016 the 2002 Jaguar X-type was towed into our shop. The complaint was the car was over heating, leaking coolant and had been parked for awhile. After the mechanic checked the car it was determined we needed to replace the fuel pump assembly, spark plugs and radiator. The customer agreed...

to the estimate price of $2,764.52 on May 15, 2016. After the repairs were made the car still had problems. We told the customer that it still had problems. We explained that the battery was not holding a charge and it was preventing us from further diagnosing the car. Customer stated the battery was fairly new. We explained that it was not holding a charge and needed a new battery. The customer finally gave approval to replace the battery. We told the customer that due to the large amount of money owed we need a payment of at least $800.00 to move forward. Customer stated they wanted the car running first. We explained we could go no further until payment had been made. The customer stopped communicating with us and several months passed. On Sept. 1, 2016 a storage/lien letter was mailed out. More than 30 days passed before the customer started calling about the car. We explained the car still had problems. We need to start with a battery and whatever parts we found to be bad. We told customer that we needed a payment first. They stated they wanted the car running and that they were going to get a title loan to pay for the repairs.  Once again we were at a stand still. Then the customer writes to the Revdex.com. We have since replaced the battery and rechecked the car. At this time the problem shows to be a bad fuel pum. This car is equip with 3 fuel pumps a main and a secondary. The first pump we replaced was the main fuel pump which was not working. Now the secondary fuel pump needs to be replaced. With this fuel pump replacement it should get the car up and running. Of course the price of repairs is going to go higher with the additional parts and labor. We have gone as far as we can without receiving a payment. The amount of repairs will be over $3000. We are not asking for the full payment. We just need at least $800 to move forward. We are not a bank we are a small business and have a lot of time and money invested in this car. At this point we are at a stand still.

I am rejecting this response because:  This business has the facts wrong.  The simple truth is I took my 2005 DODGE 2500 6 speed manual transmission diesel truck in to SGT CLUTCH TO FIX A HARD SHIFTING ISSUE.  I found in early JUNE 2015 that the clutch DOES NOT release the CLUTCH PARTS in order to shift the gears.   At that time SGT CLUTCH's mechanic concurred with me that it is not fixed after the two earlier trips in.  Therefore, when this business told me in March I ONLY needed to have the transmission rebuilt and that ALL OTHER PARTS where in GOOD SHAPE, they have NOT correctly diagnosed the cause of the ORIGINAL problem.  And as of today and $4750 later, and after 3 total trips to SGT CLUTCH, the problem has not been fixed.  Again, on the 2nd time in they replaced the HYDRAULIC SYSTEM and on the 3rd trip on JUNE 15th told me the CLUTCH PARTS NEEDED to be replaced.  I bought a new pressure plate for $983.99 in June and took it to SGT CLUTCH because [redacted], the service manager, told me he would install it for me at no cost.   Only after SGT CLUTCH replaced the clutch disk and pressure plate, found that did not fix it.   The issue with the flywheel is also simple, that part does not wear out, if anything, it would cause the clutch to slip and make it easier for the CLUTCH DISK to release.  So now I will like SGT CLUTCH to own up to the fact they should give me the $4750. that I spent so far for which I got NO FIX done to my truck.    Next week when I'll have my local Dodge dealer repair shop fix my shifting problem then I will know what the REAL reason my truck reverse gear is hard to engage.

This is the first I am hearing of the fuel pump needing to be replaced. This response is very incorrect. I was not informed of the new estimate until almost a month later after I called several times. Being told I would receive a call back and not receiving a call back. Another issue is we were not informed that there would be a title loan that would have to be taken out. We were Informed we could make payments on the repairs which we were later Informed it was through a title loan they have been misleading for the start. And now they are wanting to keep the vehicle based on lies. I would just like to come to an agreement because as they stated after all these repairs the vehicle is still not running.

I was very dissatisfied with Sargent Clutch we drove our car their, but had to get our car towed from their two months & over $700 later. They don't return your calls or keep you posted with what they are doing. I would not recommend Sargent Clutch to ANYONE!!!!

To whom this may concern in regards to Revdex.com ID # 12732642 alternator was replaced and still had problems. It had a bad battery which we replaced and it worked fine. Customer picked up vehicle 3-14-18.
