Hanley's Blacksmith & Spring Shop

Review: This letter is to report a fraud by Mr. Hanleys blacksmith and spring shop at 8530 Fruitridge Rd 95826 on a repair job to my R.V. he was to replace the springs on the front of the R.V. and the shocks on both the front and the back. he charged me $900 for this service. I was told he needed to replace the rear leaf springs which would cost more money that I didn't have. So he put the RV on metal blocks. All together he ended up charging me $1565. I have already paid him $900 for the service and now he is asking for more money because he put my R.V. on blocks.Desired Settlement: I was not told I would have to pay $1565 in total until he had done the work.

Response:

The total job cost is $1562. I gave Mr. [redacted] a cost break by not charging him on some of the labor. Mr. [redacted] signed the work order and was well informed of the work to be completed. Mr. [redacted] has paid a total of $965. ($340 in cash on June 3, 2014; $325.50 on VISA on June 5, 2014 and the VISA again on July 1, 2014 for $300.) Mr. [redacted] gave me checks to cover the balance. I do not take payments. I have never taken payments. But in this case I went against my better judgement and accommodated Mr. [redacted]. In turn Mr. [redacted] canceled checks and reported me to the Revdex.com. I did inform Mr. [redacted] that he is liable for my bank fees which are now $105. Mr. [redacted]'s balance is $702.

Response:

Customer states that I don't want to pay the balance because the job was not done the way I wanted to. I had asked for sleeves to be put on the springs and not metal blocks.

Business

Response:

Customer has paid so far 655.50 and has a remaining balance of 705.00. The BAR has said that the workmanship is fine and the company has done everything they can do.
