Mr. [redacted] has received exactly what he purchased, he thought that the SEER rating was part of the sizing of the unit. While the new American Standard unit did have a valve go bad June 29th, and we replaced it that is the only service call with a problem we found. The system has been running per manufacture specifications since. We had a representative from American Standard out to home to check the unit all is working as designed. Mr. [redacted] has continued to repeat that the home will not stay at 72 degrees with an ambient temperature of 107 degrees at 1pm on July 3rd 2017. The thermostat set at 72 degrees and was reading at 72 degrees the supply air was recorded at 63 degrees at the register. Well below even the manufacturers expectations. I did make an offer to replace the system with a larger unit (4-ton) but would need to make changes to the duct work to compensate for the greater airflow. I offered to remove the old unit and install a new unit for the cost of the new system and upgrades needed for the larger system. The warranty has been honored we have never once failed to go service the system when we were notified there was a problem.
Again we have gone in circles stating the same facts...The system installed is the exact system you agreed to purchase. The unit has been checked out and is running within manufacturer specs. The only resolutions available if you are not happy with the system is to purchase the 4-ton system as I have given you the option to do so. Or we will come remove the system and give you a refund for the system minus the labor involved to install and removal. The refund will be in the amount of $4000.

The installers told me the a/c unit would hang over the concrete pad (4 ¾”) because it was a “bigger unit.” To me, that was a total misrepresentation of what I actually purchased. A bigger unit to me means exactly that – a bigger unit than the one he replaced. The technician also misinformed me the new unit would be more efficient and perform the same or better than the old Goodman unit. It has proven not to be the case as the Goodman unit kept my house at a constant 72 degrees even when the temperature reached 120 degrees. The American Standard does not. A quality air conditioner should run at an optimal level for quite a few years before any parts should be replaced. What Ryan says about my home not maintaining a 72 degree constant makes no sense at all. If it is set at 72 degrees, the temperature should remain constant no matter how hot it is outside the house. Ryan even had the audacity to tell me it was because I needed to add more insulation to make the unit work more efficient. Yes, he did offer to replace the system with a larger unit (4-ton) but would need to make changes to the duct work to compensate for the greater airflow. Again that would cost me an additional $3,500 - $4,500 to install a bigger unit along with more money for upgrades he says I need for the larger system.
