PLEASE READ THIS! This company is unethical They overcharged me, replaced a motor that was working fine, told me I had a non-existent duct leak, and they boost their ratings by having the techs use tactics to get customers to write reviews (which is in violation of Yelp’s business rules)PRICING: Replaced a Carrier blower and blower motor: $ quotes from other companies for exact same parts - Using the high end of each range of each quote: @ $700; @ $ Barker’s price is more than twice that They offer discounts … we all feel good about discounts, but their original price is outrageous so discounts can be generous and they still come out ahead of other companies AFTER a $new customer discount and their 15% off “member discount” (which cost 180/year), I reduced my bill to $ Yes, I bought their maintenance plan for simply to save $for a net savings of $to me since I will never let them back into my home I believe this is to hook you into their regular service Twice I asked the customer service for a breakdown of their prices and both times I was immediately reminded that I signed their contract stating I agreed to their prices The 2nd time they told me there is no breakdown for parts and labor, they charge flat pricesDUCT LEAK: When the tech was done, he had me put my hand up in the heater closet telling me that the heat I felt was from a leaky duct and I need to have that fixed at some point I looked up in the closet and saw a huge vent to outside Duh it’s warm up there, it’s over degrees outside That’s not from a leak in the duct Do you think that since I’m on the maintenance plan they were going to come back to repair ducts?
REPLACED A PART THAT DIDN’T NEED TO BE REPLACED The blower was damaged from the filter falling into it but I didn’t feel anything else would need replacing Surprise! The tech told me the blower motor was broken and the piston was moving in a direction it shouldn’t (it wasn’t hooked up, he had it out and was showing me but I couldn’t see the problem.) I had him replace it but told him I wanted the old one However… he put the old one in his truck and when I called him on it he said “I thought I had earned your trust by now” A friend at work has an A/C repair neighbor who was nice enough to checked it for me You guessed it, it ran fine That repair person said he wouldn’t have replaced itSKEWED REVIEW SCORES: I used this company because of their Yelp review scores I knew I wrote a star review on Google Plus because the tech asked me to give a star review so that he could win $from Barker for having his name mentioned in a star review (He then mentioned he has a wife and child and this would mean a lot to him.) He even had to show me how to find the location to write the review I read some of the other reviews and found one stated they left a review because they were offered a discount Yelp doesn’t allow businesses to solicit reviews I saw my tech’s name mentioned several times I then happened to notice that they use different phone numbers for each review site Seems odd when their truck is pictured with a different number Barker is using these review sites as their advertising If it were unsolicited it would be earned They have not earned these reviews (I updated my prior Google Plus review.)

Jordan Stilwell and his crew did an excellent job installing my water heater, smoke detectors and carbon monoxide sensor I would highly recommend them to anybody that needs this type of service
