The complaintent came to our dealership regarding issues with her vehicle and a check engine light which was onThe complaintent stated that the vehicle was in need of timing chains and this was the 2nd time this needed to be done on the vehicle since she had owned itWe put together an estimate
for her and advised her at that time of the importance of routine maintenance especially in a vehicle with an engine design such as hersShe acknowledged at that time that routine maintenance had not occured on the vehicleWhile explaining to her the estimate we also included an oil change to be done within miles of her getting the vehicle back to assist with getting rid of any sludge or other bi-products of the lack of maintenance in the vehicleWe also advised her of the importance of every mile oil changes with high quality oil (*** for example) to assistance with engine longevityShe agreed to the estimate and we scheduled the vehicle for repairThe vehicle was taken in and repair was conductedDuring the repair, the engine was shown to have excessive sludge in it and thus the need for the above stated oil change was necessaryAlso in the repair, the technician also needed to replace a motor mount at no extra cost to the customerThe vehicle was picked up the following Monday from the repair and again the customer was explained to the need for the oil change within miles and this would void any warranty for the ** parts that were used in the repair (** offers a month/ mile warranty on parts - No Labor just parts)She agreed and left with her vehicleWithin weeks we received a phone call stating that she had again a check engine light and had it scanned at *** with several codes showingShe was advised to bring the vehicle down so we could look it overWhile on her way to the shop we received a 2nd call that she was broke downWe gave her the number for a tow company who offers a discount to bring a vehicle to our garage and the vehicle was brought inUpon examination it was discovered that that vehicle intially did not startWe were able to get the vehicle started and discovered the vehicle was knocking considerably from the bottom end of the engineAlso, upon reviewing the mileage it was discovered the vehicle was nearly miles over the mile thresholdThe oil on the dipstick was very dark and sludgy which appears to be a factor in the engine malfunctionThe customer was called, explained the diagnoses and we offered to begin searching for a replacement engine for the vehicleWe also stated we would put the engine into the vehicle for "0" labor cost knowing the situation she was in and the financial burden this vehicle was for her/her familyAny questions please contact us at ###-###-####Adam Diate, Owner Hanson Road Auto Sales

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The vehicle was taken back in a week. I got it back the first time on a Monday and I was attempting to return it on the following Monday when the vehicle quit. My regular mechanic and the mechanic that has the vehicle now both have said that 200 over the oil change would not ruin the motor. My mechanic says there was nothing wrong with my vehicle except for the timing chains when it went in. The mechanic that has my vehicle now says the motor was never touched. They never asked or notified me about changing the motor mount, which I have been told they should have. When I asked for an invoice I was told they don't give paper copies, but they will email one to me and I didn't get that until the 14th. I also replied back about wanting to see the receipt of where the parts where ordered from and have not gotten that. I wasn't told they would put a new motor in it for 0 cost. I have a vehicle sitting that I'm making payments on plus a loan for the work they were suppose to do, so making payments on that and a rental car which I paid for 2 weeks at about 600.00 and that has to be returned 9/8 because I can't afford it anymore. This vehicle being down has been a huge inconvenience and needs to be remedied. They need to admit to their mistake, which can be claimed through their insurance, give me the amount that the loan was for, a motor, and pay for the rental that I have paid for. I also strongly believe that they didn't do the work, but had it subcontracted out because when the vehicle was picked up the first time it questioned where the work was done at and they kept redirecting the question.  Regards, [redacted]
