Hello. Thank you for contacting me. Every year my company tries to give back to those less fortunate. We select a few jobs where we know good people need help. Ms. [redacted] had a number of issues she needed help with things they otherwise could not afford. I decided it would be nice to help her. I...

personally did the work. Ms. [redacted] lives in a trailer that doesn't have standard plumbing or fixtures. Ms. [redacted] selected this sink and we knew before hand the counter hole would need to be made larger. The sink hole was made larger to accommodate the sink she wanted and we had purchased. Construction is not a standard practice. Removing and installing things doesn't go the same every time. Using a pry bar is perfectly fine. There was not a crow bar in the sense of a huge tool. A 6" prybar was used. There is nothing wrong with the sink, the faucet, or anything else that was done. Ms. [redacted] also wanted her bathroom floor fixed and some insulation done. When I determined cost for all this extra work suddenly her counter became cracked. Ms. [redacted] had sent me a note when she received the quote for the extra work. That's when I was first made aware of any damage. Please keep in mind I had returned to her home in the interim to look at he additional prior to making the quote and was never told of any damage or any other issues. It was only when the quote came. I did call Ms. [redacted] and tried to talk to her. She was confrontational and had it in her mind she deserved a new kitchen. I would never yell at a customer, let alone an elderly customer. Me. [redacted] only paid for the materials used in the job. She received 2 new sinks, fixtures, and drains. There was also some other repair work done for $650. I offered to come see the counter. I suggested a number of possible solutions. One of which would have been to fill any crack and color match it. She became extremely mad when I offered that solution. It was at this time she said she wanted new counters. I did not do any damage to her home. Ms. [redacted] may have other issues contributing to her inability to understand there is nothing wrong. I was in her home a month after the work was done when I was quoting the additional work and nothing was ever said to me. In fact, she said she loved washing potatoes in her new sink. If there is something there now, it isn't from me. I gave my time to help her. I feel bad she needs to do this. I am not sure what I can do at this point to help. I feel bad she had to do this. There is nothing wrong with the sink or the fixtures. Does she figure she can just request them with new counters. Her proposed settlement would be in excess of one thousand dollars. This job was done to help someone. It was done by me and not a laborer. This entire "situation" arose when the quote for the additional work came back. I cannot agree to fix something I did not do. I don't want to see her upset so I am not sure what is expected of me. Since it's the holidays I am willing to give her a further discount. I would need to determine how to proceed and how much because this seems like I am blindly giving her money to make her happy. That would be openning the door for any looney toon to do the same if they read about it. There's also another term for what this feels like, but I will digress for the time being.
