Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, **16/02/09) */
We did the install for [redacted] , we got to site and laid tile the first day till 7 pm. [redacted] gave us a ** dollar tip when we finished and said he was very happy , we returned the following morning and grouted the tile from 9-11. I guess we had...

left a little grout on a door jamb and some in the snow on his walk way , as soon as we were notified we returned to clean it. It was then that we were told about the grout being a little off color which can happen , we then made a plan to clean the grout. We did and it still was a little off in color so we bought a stain that is used for grout . We tryed to resolve this problem in a timely manner but mr [redacted] wouldn't take anymore time off work so we were forced to work a few hours one night and then on a Saturday. We had to cut one vent bigger then it was because it was a discontinued tile and we couldn't get anymore. When we cut the tile we put rags in the furnace duct work and vacuumed it afterwards. The duct work was only attached by one nail and we were trying to fix it for him as a favor, no tile or mortar got in the furnace system. We did find a vent at Home Depot we tried to get ahold of [redacted] but had no luck so we stopped at his home at 5 30 pm on our way home from another job close by ,we replaced it no charge. We didn't see the problem with doing this as he had is work after hours and weekends to complete the project ,
We are going out one last time to have a furnace cleaning company to remove duct work and clean it just to reassure him nothing got in his furnace. At the same time will do a couple of touch ups.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 10, **16/02/11) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Since the first day of install on Jan 6 **16 there have been 9 returns to my place to address one problem or another which seems to be a little extreme for a 100 sq ft install. On the first day the young man doing the install did stay until 7pm so I offered to pay for his lunch since he stayed so long to complete the job. The following day when we returned home there was grout not only on my door jamb ( which a [redacted] Employee pointed out to me )but the grout was not washed off the floor properly and our cabinet in the bathroom was also covered. My walkway, steps and side lawn where completely covered with debris, I called Happy Harrys to complain and no one EVER came to my house to clean the mess. In fact the mess is still there and the owner of [redacted] offered to shovel the snow from my yard to clean it. The grout was turning white (and still is) the employee came to "stain" the grout and in the process has stained the tile in various spots throughout the hallway and bathroom, this was pointed out to the owner of [redacted] along with the owner of Happy Harrys. As far as the employees working after hours; I feel it's not my responsibility to continuously take time off my work to accommodate them, so they can fix there mistakes. When the tile was cut larger to accommodate the larger vent, the employees did not put rags in the vents. it was witnessed by my[redacted] that no such practice was done. and I also have pictures showing the debris in the ducts work the same evening they were there. I found the vent at home depot and informed the employee of such after he told me he could not find one in the city anywhere and it would be back ordered for 2 weeks. The same employee told my[redacted] that the vent was borrowed from a contractor friend of his. This was after showing up at our house after hours without notice and making my[redacted] very uncomfortable (since I wasn't home) being alone in the house with two men. It could not have been at 5:30 as the employee says because she works until 5pm and has a 40 min commute home and she says she was home at least a half hour before they were knocking at our side door.[redacted] I have many pictures of all these issues mentioned and both company owners have seen these pictures and agreed there was many problems with this job. Also I would like to add that I made several attempts trying to with Ryan the owner of [redacted];and employees of Happy Harrys also made several attempts to have him call me concerning these issues and until he was [redacted] by the owner of Happy Harrys to[redacted] is when he finally found the time to contact me. I have many pictures showing the issues and as we all know pictures don't lie.
