This is 100% NOT resolved. The rescue did not focus on my concerns and our reaching out numerous times to access veterinary assistance through them prior to our emergency visit. They instead focused their attention on my very last paragraph, which did not address our request for resolution or address our situation directly. The foster Mom was, and has been, excellent. She was our only source of appropriate assistance through the process, and my husband and she even started his IVs when we dropped him off with her. HTR refused to assist us with a dying dog, despite our escalating concerns and requests for help, until we had no choice but to bring him in on our own. They then failed to reach out to me or the vet while I sat there waiting for a plan. The foster Mom was the only one who communicated with me while I was at the vet (while she was working her other job) to help come up with a plan. HTR refused to help and failed at communicating with us in a respectable and timely manner to get help for this dog. This dog was clearly sick, and HTR was aware of the exposure so should have responded appropriately to our calls for help. As we did not get to keep the dog we fell in love with, had to spend hundreds of dollars to disinfect our house, car, and yard so our other puppy wouldn't get parvo, took the dog to an emergency vet appointmet to save him, and did everything in our power to get help from HTR prior to that with no luck, we should absolutely get reimbursement for the vet visit. HTR refused to help us when we so desperately needed help, and due to that negligence we needed to do what we could to save the dog. Their response does not include any correct information. I personally was on the phone with the foster mom while she was at the vet. We did not ignore any requests and have all emails that went back and forth. There was no need for an "emergency vet appointment." All that was done was a parvo test- which is a snap test and can be done at any time. Getting the test result form the vet took a few days- once we got it we returned the adoption fee- although the adopter signed a contract where it states 3-4 times that there are no refunds. I also have no idea why there would be a need to spend hundreds of dollars to disinfect their house, in 15 + years of working with dogs I have never heard of this. Bleach kill the virus.  The adoption is not honest about pretty much anything going on. We have refunded the adoption fee, took over medical care, and consider the issue resolved.

After reviewing the medical records from her pups hospital stay Happy Tails was not comfortable giving her another dog. The records stated that the dog had been declining all week and was not brought into the vet until the condition was critical. The medical notes also stated that they recommended...

giving the puppy another 24 hours of care. The adopters did not contact us until after they had made the choice to have the puppy euthanized. We would have taken her back and taken over medical care had she followed the procedures in her adoption contract regarding an adopted dog being sick. She also just recently got us the medical records. When [redacted] originally reached out to us we asked for the records and it took a few weeks to get them. The only records we were provided were the records from the ER vet. She also had no records of the recommended exam we ask adopters to have within 7 days with their personal vet. This exam helps resolve any medical issues that were missed.
