Don't let this happen to you or your loved Pet
My name is *** *** at ** *** *** ** *** *** *** *** *** **
I moved here in May of this year (2015)
Two weeks ago (Oct 20th) I had noticed that my dog *** came down with an ear infectionBecause I don't drive and I moved here from Staten Island, I thought it best to inquire about a Mobile Vet that made house calls, as it would be easier for me as well as ***, rather then get someone to help me make the long commute back to Staten Island and *** gets car sick as wellI saw that there was a Happy Tails Mobile Vet that came into *** *** *** and thought that this was a good optionI call and schedule an appointment with *** *** *** who works at Happy Tails Veterinary Hospital, ** *** **, to come and asset my little *** situationThey told me that there was a $house call fee just to come, and I had no problem with thatShe came and advised me that in fact *** did have a severe ear infection, and that she was going to administer ear medication for a seven day treatment and that I was to follow up with a second appointment with a week or two for a check upThe actual bill for that visit came to $and I made an appointment for the following week for follow up as requested*** responded well to the medication, and I noticed an improvement to his hearing response as well as he he was very energetic and playfulI received a call from the Happy Tails office confirming his follow up appointment the day before his actual appointment which was to be Oct 29thOn the day of the 29th it had poured very badly and when *** *** did not show up after minutes of my scheduled apptI got concernedI called the number she left me and I was told that *** *** only made house calls on a Tuesday and they were waiting for me to come into the officeI explained that I did not drive and that is why I originally choose Happy Tails Mobile VetHowever since *** was doing well I rescheduled *** appt.for the following Tuesday (Nov.3)
On the morning of *** follow up apptI feed him and walked him, we played ball and he played with his toys and barked at everyone as he always did! I was excited to see him doing well, and was excited that the medication *** *** gave him did so wellWhen *** *** came for his follow up and looked at his ear she said and I quote " it looks 95% better" and that she was going to administer more medication in his ear to clear up a small sore that he still hadAs her assistant held ***, she proceeded to put a syringe in his hear and then he let out a large yelp! After another $she then left and told me to make another follow up apptNo sooner then minutes after she left, *** started vomiting, defecating, and urinating profusely in the house, as well as his eyes convulsing side to side and could not stand on his four pawsI started to panic and call the Vets office twice it took minutes before *** *** to respond and came back with her assistance and another personShe then said *** ear looked much redder and inflamed and she with no luck, attempted to extract the original ear medication as well as gave him a shot of Benerdril and steroidsI could not understand because he had no reaction the first time she gave him the same medicationShe then advised me to take *** to *** *** *** *** ** *** ***That is the last I saw or heard of *** ***
I called my brother In Law and he came and took meBy the time I got *** ** *** *** *** *** *** could not stand and did not even respond or recognize me It was in their opinion he was suffering from a form of VertigoBut there could be other reasons for this to be happening to *** (such as a puncher of the ear drum)I was told that they would like to keep him for 2-days to give him IV and observe him at $400.00-PER DAY (just for starters) depending on his progressAs well as possible extensive testing to see what actually happenedI was told he may or may not recover and that there could be paralysis or permanent side effects if in fact he did recoverAfter seeing my *** in so much pain and confusion, I made the decision not to make him continue to sufferWithout further assurance that his quality of life would not be compromised I made one of the most painful decisions to have him put to sleepI would rather live with this decision then have to watch my little boy who has given me and my beloved husband so much love sufferTwo days later I have not received or heard from *** *** and I am very angry with the fact that she and Happy Tails will not take any responsibility for what they have put me and my little *** through, financially or especially emotionallyI an writing this so as anyone who has used or is thinking of using the services of Happy Tails Vetor *** *** *** ........Don't let this happen to you or your loving pet!
