Issues related in the letter from Ms. [redacted]. ·       Overpayment or communication on payment. [redacted] was...

booked in as a large dog on our billing system. She was booked as > 50 pounds and that is the big dog rate of $33 per day and that is the correct rate for that size.Checking our Veterinarian records we see that she is 45 pounds and that is charged at $30 per day.  We  hired a new receptionist 3 weeks ago and this is a mistake that would have been easily remedied if Ms. [redacted] has spoken to us about it.  Nothing was said by Ms. [redacted] and it was  never mentioned  to us until we received this complaint.  If she had said something, we would have gladly corrected her bill.  ·       Injury to [redacted]’s eye. [redacted] was brought in having recently had a Bordetella inoculation.  Under that condition, all dogs in boarding that have been inoculated in less than 5 days prior to the delivery to the kennel are put in “keep separate” or not allowed with other dogs as the inoculations can be contagious.  [redacted] was kept separate for 5 of her 6 days here and then was allowed into general population play time with the small dogs on the morning of her last day here.   During this time an injury to her eye could have occurred during normal play.  There are dog handlers in the kennel play area at all times and there was NO indication that [redacted] sustained an injury prior to her departure.  Had Ms. [redacted] notified us we would have been happy to check [redacted] out but at checkout there was no indication of the scratch.  ·       Bronchitis Bordetella is a common upper respiratory infection like a common human cold.  It often appears similar to the symptoms of bronchitis.  We are mandated to make sure all dogs visiting our facility have been inoculated for distemper and rabies.  Our company policy is that we also include Bordetella inoculations to HELP prevent spread of that disease.  Bordetella is as common in dogs as a common cold is in humans and is spread the same way.  Our kennel is kept clean and sanitized more so than almost any facility in the state.  If a dog catches a respiratory infection in a boarding environment that is about the same as a school kid catching a cold at school.  There is nothing that a kennel can to do avoid that other than require an inoculation as a prophylactic measure and keep the kennel clean, as well as isolating any animals that come down with the disease until that animal can be removed from the kennel entirely. Ms. [redacted] signed a standard contract that required that all costs for veterinary care during any and all illnesses or injuries sustained during [redacted]’s stay here are the responsibility of the owner.  That is why the current contract is standard in the industry in Colorado. Ms. [redacted] called our office and berated the kennel manager and made numerous false accusations of abuse.  That kind of conduct is not effective in any business relationship.  We were totally unaware of any of her concerns until we received the Revdex.com letter.  We are in the business of providing a safe, clean and loving environment for all pets placed in our care.   The emotional call by Ms. [redacted] served only to vent her emotions and did not allow any rational communication for us to receive her concerns or for her to understand the situation around [redacted]. For her to then make formal public accusations of malfeasance toward Happy Trails was unacceptable and unethical. We are sorry that [redacted] was injured in any way.  The injury may have happened during the play time with the small  dogs but Happy Trails staff will never know as Ms. [redacted] departed and did not rationally communicate other than to call and scream at our manager and make irresponsible threats. Ms. [redacted] is no longer a welcome customer at Happy Trails Pet Spa.  These kinds of false and irrational accusations are toxic poison and we will not be subject to people who are unwilling to act like adults.  James F.
