The day notice was received on Friday, September 26, I called [redacted] on October 1st because she had not brought the baby since she gave me her thirty day notice and she said her husband will be home for days and her mother-in-law was there to help I told her child care tuition is due for OctoberShe gave no reply so I told her she could mail the payment and she said okay I waited and after a week I texted her times without even a response from her On my 4th text to her she text me back and said she didn't understand why she owes tuition for October when she gave me my thirty day noticeI text her back explaining while she did give me her day notice which started on September 26, and that payment is due until that day notice is up, hence payment due for October I also told her that she signed a contract(In my contact it states that I will take all outstanding accounts to court and/or collections as needed.) After this I did not get any other responses from her so I called my attorney and he said he will send a demand letter for payment and not to contact them again I did as I was advised I have been a child provider for years and have never been charged with neglect or abuse of any childThis business is my livelihood and I take pride in it I follow all the rules and regulations that the State of Hawaii mandatesIt is a shame that because I would like payment for services on a contract agreement that a person will file accusations Thank you for your time Sincerely, [redacted] Happyland Family Child Care

RE: Complaint ID # [redacted]
Happyland Family Childcare Services[redacted] and [redacted]
To Whom It May Concern:
I am responding to a complaint forwarded to you from [redacted] and * ([redacted]) [redacted] This complaint has been filed from a disgruntled client due to her not wanting to pay her outstanding balance owed for services rendered/contract obligation
When [redacted] and [redacted] brought their daughter [redacted] to my daycare for the initial interview and walk through and to go over my contract they were very pleased and impressed with my home and the services I provide[redacted] even called my referencesWhen [redacted] and [redacted] set up the date to bring [redacted] there was not one complaint from them regarding the walk through and where the kitty litter was The kitty litter was in another room, a room where her baby would not even enterAlso the baby ([redacted]) was up to date with her immunizations as I was given her shot record filled out by the pediatrician and the baby would not be allowed to attend my day care per State requirement until shots are up to date The contract for services was signed by both parents and [redacted] was scheduled to attend my day care
While [redacted] was in my day care home there was not one unsafe situation or practiceIt is untrue about placing bassinet in the locations that [redacted] stated and I never ever handled the baby in an inappropriate or unsafe manner while positioning her After all I am a trained and experienced provider and would never harm a child
Getting to know [redacted] I could see she was a very inexperienced person caring for her baby and was unsure of many things in caring for her She called me on numerous occasions in the evenings to find out "how to feed", "how to place baby to sleep", "how to prop baby on shoulder" and other questionsI knew she was a new mother and I went out of my way and was happy to help her and to reinsure her as a momI took excellent care of [redacted]. [redacted] called me one evening because she was afraid to cut [redacted]'s nails She asked me to please cut them for her I told her I usually do not cut nails When [redacted] came the next morning I noticed her nails were long and her mother did not cut themI thought I would help her and tried to cut her nails but after only cutting the thumb nail and the pointer nail I stoppedI did not feel comfortable to do the rest because they were so tinyI did not cut the nails on both her hands and I certainly did not cause them to bleedWhen the parents came to pick up [redacted] I let them know I tried to cut her nails but stopped[redacted] the husband said that it was okay and that he would cut her nails
The baby bed that I used for [redacted] to sleep in was sort of like a bassinet and it was placed on the floor by my area so that I could always watch her This bed was not placed on a couch or a recliner seat or a recliner footThis is simply untrue
I, [redacted] am the full time licensed child care provider in my business, although when a day care home is licensed it lists on the license both wife's and husband's nameMy husband is self-employed and has his own officeHe also makes his own hours. He is in no way required to stay at my day care When necessary on my request he does stay at the day care to give me additional supportThe days that [redacted] says that my husband left me with infants is untrue I keep a calendar with signatures with the time in and out and the dates in questioned my husband did not leave the day care at all until an infant was picked up
The root of all these complaints made bv [redacted] and [redacted] is as follows:
Per [redacted] in our conversations she said that her mother-in-law was going to retire soon and care for the baby and they would not have to pay for day care and the second reason in a written day notice letter she states that she will be taking [redacted] out of day care because of traffic and the driving distance hardshipIn the same letter she says she is so happy for my day care and asked if she could still bring the baby on a drop off basis and backup after she leaves my day care (Letter attached) If they
were so unhappy with my day care and the care of their baby then why would they still want to use my
day care services?
The day notice was received on Friday, September 26, I called [redacted] on October 1st because she had not brought the baby since she gave me her thirty day notice and she said her husband will be home for days and her mother-in-law was there to help. I told her child care tuition is due for OctoberShe gave no reply so I told her she could mail the payment and she said okay I waited and after a week I texted her times without even a response from her On my 4th text to her she text me back and said she didn't understand why she owes tuition for October when she gave me my thirty day noticeI text her back explaining while she did give me her day notice which started on September
26, and that payment is due until that day notice is up, hence payment due for October I also told her that she signed a contract(In my contact it states that I will take all outstanding accounts to court and/or collections as needed.) After this I did not get any other responses from her so I called my attorney and he said he will send a demand letter for payment and not to contact them again I did as I was advised
I have been a child provider for years and have never been charged with neglect or abuse of any childThis business is my livelihood and I take pride in it. I follow all the rules and regulations that the State of Hawaii mandatesIt is a shame that because I would like payment for services on a contract agreement that a person will file accusations
Thank you for your time
Sincerely,
