Happy's Garage Reviews (4)

After the initial test drive, the customer was pleased with the vehicle, however did not wish to move forward with paperwork as they had a pending insurance claim. During this time, the vehicle was still available for purchase, and had multiple test drives by other perspective buyers. Weeks...

later, they contacted us and asked that it be taken to their mechanic for a safety inspection. The inspection facility was outside of our normal radius for a “local” inspection, however special arrangements were made to get the vehicle there. Upon completion, a new air filter and new battery terminal were the only recommendations made by their mechanic on a vehicle which, in the repair shop owners words was, “one of the nicest used cars they have had in for a safety inspection”.  These minor issues were corrected the next day, and several attempts were made to contact the customer to move forward with the sale, which days later again resulted in not doing so due to a pending insurance claim. Another  perspective buyer came in and test drove the car, left a deposit, and purchased the vehicle the next morning. At the end of the following week the customer called to see if the vehicle was still available. When he was informed that it had been sold, he became irate. He furthermore mentioned that he saw we were a Revdex.com accredited business and he would be filing a complaint because he felt that the vehicle in question, not under deposit, was “sold out from under him”. It’s clear that the customer is upset, and his intention is to slander our impeccable online reputation with the Revdex.com. It is our belief that every effort was made to sell the customer the vehicle, and in no way conflicted with what we consider to be a good code of business ethics.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: We were not informed that having the inspection was not sufficient to hold the vehicle. Under false/inadequate information we proceded with the $60 inspection to purchase the vehicle. Aslo we are not trying to "slander" this business we are reporting miss treatment by the staff. Furthermore the only reason this business has a clean record with the Revdex.com is because they have yet to be rated by a single customer. If this business is trying to challenge my integrity, the integrity of a 9 year [redacted] and current employee of the [redacted], then they are sadly in the wrong. We were offended by how the mechanic brushed us off like we weren't important and looked as we were wasting his time burried in his cell phone and even further offended by the sales woman who practically yelled at us blaiming us for everything instead of trying to get us into the compairable car that was on the lot like any auto sales person would do. I have worked in retail in the past and know that both of these people were unprofessional and any reputable dealership wouldnt stand for that treatment of their customers. I dont always believe the phrase "the customer is always right" HOWEVER the least the sales woman could do was appoligise for the mix up and try to assist us into something else that would have worked for us. We have since brought our business somewhere else that treated us with respect and spent more money that originally planed on a newer vehicle, This money could have easily been spent at Happy's Garage had they treated us with some respect and been upfront about everything. If needed I can attach the full report from the garage that did the inspection, there was a third finding from the garage, stating that the throttle needed attention, ontop of the two stated by Happy's.

Review: Was trying to purchase a 2006 [redacted] from Happy's Garage. Both my girlfriend and I spoke with the sales rep and discussed that we wanted to purchase the vehicle after a pre purchase inpection was conducted by a 3rd party. I had set up an appointment that cost $60 and the vehicle was broght to the garage for the inspection. After the inspection concluded I was contacted by both the shop that did the inspection and Happy's Garage. The inspection garage informed me that there were minor issues with the car that should be addressed. When contacted by Happy's Garage I voiced my concerns for the minor issues and they stated that it would be addressed before the car was sold. A few days later they sold the car out from under us claiming that we never showed intrest in the vehicle and that since we didnt put $500 down to hold it that the car was fair game. I was under the imression that the pre purchase inspection and the cost of the inspection would be sufficient to hold the vehicle for us since the sales rep never told me about needing any additional deposit. Now Happy's Garage refuses to refund the $60 that was spent on a pre purchase inspection and everyone at that garage that I spoke to was extremely rude on the phone. Not only did multiple messages that were left on the answering machine go un answered but to find out the person who originally brought us on the test ride wasnt even a sales rep, I was later told he was a mechanic. This shop is extremely unprofessional, unethical, and rude which brings a bad name to its Revdex.com accredidation and the automotive comunity.Desired Settlement: I would like my $60 refunded promptly and would also like Happy's Garage to loose their Revdex.com accredidation
