Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
We have just spoken to the RV mechanic regarding repairs on this RV.  We were told that the RV could not feasibly be repaired as it is too far damaged.  Again I ask why would a car dealer/mechanic sell something so functionally obsolete as to be viewed as cheating their customer, who came to them in good faith?
According to [redacted]'s response we told him we were coming over to "buy" the RV.  Now we must ask ourselves here why in the world would anybody commit to buying something without seeing it?  Granted we should have been less trustful of the man, but he stated that the RV needed new tires and a tune up, and cosmetic work.  We were okay with that, new tires, a tune up and then take our time to upgrade things here and there - but not to have paid $2,000 for a non-functioning vehicle that cannot be repaired.  At one point he asked us if we had ever owned an RV before.  We had not and that seems to have given him free reign to tell us what he thought we wanted to hear.  It worked, we trusted his word, and we got seriously cheated.   [redacted] should be required to contribute to the extreme out-of-pocket expense that we are currently racking up, thanks to his dishonesty.

Review: On Saturday, we purchased a 1985 RV from Harbeson Auto Sales & Service in Harbeson. The dealer stated to us that the vehicle needed a tune-up, but would have no problem making the drive back to our home in Glen Burnie, MD. After a walk through, and being told that the air conditioner worked, the generator worked, etc, we decided to make the purchase, knowing that once we got the RV to our home we could update what needed updating. Unfortunately, the dealer lied about it making the trip. A half hour away from the dealer the air conditioner stopped working. An hour away from the dealer the RV broke down completely. We then spent the next 3 hours trying to contact the dealer with no success, and attempting to arrange a tow (which cost us $300, not including any repairs). We paid $2,000 for the privilege of driving an RV for an hour, after which it became non-functional, cost us $300 in towing charges, and we are now awaiting repair estimates. A phone call to the dealer generated nothing but - You signed the paperwork, as is as is as is. - Should a buyer of a vehicle have a reasonable expectation of the vehicle working properly for at least the time it takes to get it to the home?Desired Settlement: We will pay the cost of the tow ($300), but we (quite reasonably) expect that the cost of the RV be refunded and paperwork reverts back to the dealer.
