Harbor Front Inn

Approximately the middle of March 2013 I booked a reservation at the Harborfront Inn. Approximately 10 days before my reservation I had to cancel due to a family emergency. When I contacted them to advise them as such they told me no refunds would be given with 14 days of the cancellation. I then proceeded to speak with the [redacted] who was kind enough to give me a 6 month credit to use my deposit of $244. Within 5 minutes of ending the phone call Harborfront billed my credit card as I get email alerts on my phone.

In mid early to mid june 2013 I called to make a reservation for one night and was now told that the hotels summer policy is a 3 night minimum and I would either have to spend an extra $500 for two more nights or forfeit the credit. This was news to me as I would not have agreed to [redacted] accomodation. I immediately contacted American Express and disputed the charges to no avail as harborfront keeps sending them the same documents showing no refunds within 14 days of cancellation. I never signed anything authorizing this charge and I cant believe they are giving me such a difficult time over $244. If they would have done the right thing the first time I would have been back however they lost a potential client and I would never refer them to anyone... all over $244.
