Please be advised that we are in receipt of your Monday, August 14, 2017, communication regarding a complaint introduced by Mr. [redacted] of [redacted]. Our details of the event in question differ from the viewpoint offered in Mr. [redacted]'s complaint. On June 9, 2017, Mr. [redacted]...

reserved three rooms for August 11th and 12th 2017.  These were rooms 202, 203, and 208. All rooms were King rooms; each able to accommodate 2 people for a total 6. Mr. [redacted], however, had a total of 8 people in his party. Two of the rooms were checked in around 1:30 pm on August 11, 2017. There were 2 people ([redacted] and [redacted]) in room 203 and 1 person ([redacted]) in 208. Mr. [redacted] himself and 4 other people arrived at around 1:00 am 08/12/2017, nearly 12 hours after room 208 and 203 had been checked in - bringing the total to 8 people. Mr. [redacted] was checked into room 202. I saw on our security camera, 3 additional people going into room 208 with luggage. This constituted a breach of NYS Health Dept. occupancy load guidelines and NYS Building and Fire codes.  I called our desk clerk and informed him that 4 people in that room was not acceptable and that at least two of them would have to be moved. At the guest's choice, Mr. [redacted] moved all four people to room 307, a double queen room.  However, the fact is that room 208 had been occupied for 12 hours and was considered a sold room. We charged him for 1 night's use of this room at the agreed upon rate of $119. Mr. [redacted] was charged the agreed upon price of $119 a night (times 2 nights) for the three rooms that he originally reserved. As stated, he was credited one night for room 208 on his credit card at the $119 rate at check out because the room had been used for one night (please see enclosed copy of receipt). He was charged, we believe fairly under the circumstances, the regular walk in rate of $199 for the additional room for two nights for room 307 since this was not  pre-booked as part of the wedding block. Charges: 6 room nights at $119.00 plus tax             $792.54 2 room nights at $199.00 plus tax               441.78 Refund 1 room night at $119.00 plus tax   -132.09 Total                                     ... $1102.23.  Mr. [redacted] misrepresented his accommodation needs to us. At the time he made his reservations on June 9, 2017, he states in his complaint that he knew we had no double queen rooms available because they were all booked by other people attending the wedding.  He says we lied about it.  We did not. Those rooms were booked as part of the wedding block. Two weeks after his reservation, on June 23, 2017, at the request of the mother of the groom, (she was very specific) rooms on  the third floor (double queens) were reassigned. A week before the wedding, the father of the groom called and cancelled several rooms. Originally, the $119 rate was agreed upon for our third floor rooms. When rooms were reassigned, our newly remodeled, more expensive rooms on the first and second floors ($229 - $269) were requested to be included. As a courtesy to the [redacted] family, we agreed to honor the $119 rate and did honor that rate for all reserved rooms. Quite a savings for Mr. [redacted] and guests of approximately 50% for brand new rooms. At check out, Mr. [redacted] questioned the charges.  We offered to refund one night at the agreed upon $119 rate. When Mr. [redacted] began using profanity by dropping the " F bomb" multiple times in the lobby with other guests waiting to be checked out and housekeeping staff present, I stated that his language was unacceptable and would not be tolerated. He signed his bill and left. His $119 rooms were already heavily discounted. Mr. [redacted] was not overcharged $441.78. He should not expect that the rooms he needed should be free of charge. His bill was already adjusted and he was charged for the rooms he used - no more, no less. If I can provide further assistance in this matter, please feel free to contact me at any time. Sincerely, Tomm M. General Manager -?"'
