Review: We enter the store and found a Guinea Pig we wanted to purchase. There was a sales sign that read "$19.99, originally $34.99." So we purchased the animal and was promised his nails would be cut while we went another business to purchase a cage. We returned and noticed we were charged 34.99 and not the sale price, when we asked about an adjustment we were told nothing could be done. Eventually, we were told to purchase a membership at $19.99 in order to get the sales price, while already being out the 34.99 plus tax. We left with the animal and after we were home noticed his nails had also not been cut. The next day we took the animal to another private business to have the animal's nails trimmed and inquired to that owner about the animal. We were told the animal was "a few years old" and given a visual reason, the associate at Harbor Pet Center said he was about a year. The owner also stated that the condition of the nails shows signs of neglect. We spoke with the supervisor who said he spoke to the owner and nothing could be done, nor give specifics as to how and when we may speak to the owners. The entire transaction were poor, the associate gave false information, we were overcharged due to an employee's mistake and it was not corrected, and the animal showed signs of neglect, as told by another private pet business owner. Worst of all we were unable to pinpoint when we could contact the owner, I left my number to receive response from the owner.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the company review its policy of care, have a sign to know all sales must require membership, hire staff that would be able to answer questions honestly or be able to guide me to someone who can accurately help.
