Basically, the response from Harbor View Inn did not address my complaintMore appropriately, their response was disjunctive; I was complaining about a hotel gouging incident and unfair pricing, and they responded to an incident involving a faulty GPS and bad directions.At any rate, I would like them to take another stab at my complaint at their earliest convenience.I appreciate your time and effortsPlease contact me if you have any questions or concerns

Hello I am late on responding*** book room on line orbitz no refund at allHotel/ orbitz policy clearly states no refund with in the notice she has given us wasn't enough time for cancellation without penalty. we try to help her to change date an explained to her she would have to
pay $fee to change ResvIt is better than losing all money what she pay to orbitz I did her a good faith but she did not like nothing I can do, an argument with me.We have clear policy stating our refunds an she did not meet the dead line an we tryed our best to accommodate herWe are sorry we coulnt help as she wanted but we wish her the best an would of loved to of helped her as we mentionedThanks for reaching out.sorry about late replied

Review: I booked a same-day hotel reservation with Harborview Inn & Suites on Saturday July 25, 2015 for an inflated rate of $500 per night using Expedia.com. When I arrived at the hotel, it became immediately evident the room quality was disproportionately aligned to the cost and was nowhere near a true reflection of the quality portrayed through Expedia's website. Needless to say, I made the decision to not take the room. I understand that supply and demand dictates market price, which for that same area that evening, at much nicer hotels (e.g. Hyatt, Marriot etc...) averaged around $230. I understand that price gouging(when a seller spikes the prices of goods, services or commodities to a level much higher than is considered reasonable or fair, and is considered exploitative, potentially to an unethical extent) typically is associated with an increase in hotel prices to exploit people put in an unexpected disposition (e.g. displaced as a result of natural disasters); however, the inflated hotel rate at Harborview Inn at least raises concerns to that company's Fair Business Practices or lack thereof. Additionally, when I asked for the front desk for a refund I was told to contact Expedia to resolve the matter. I then asked how much she would charge for the hotel had I walked in off of the street to book it. She replied, "I would have charged you $800". Appalled, I walked out and contacted Expedia to begin to resolve the issue. After being put on hold for several times for large periods of times, I was finally informed that the hotel had the final say and they would not grant me a refund because it was against their "policy." I understand it is human nature to want to avoid conflict, but lying as a technique to evade the consumer is also a grave concern.Desired Settlement: Finally, it is my sincerest hope that my complaint is taken seriously, and furthermore prevents someone else from the equivocation and deceit. If a refund is not possible, at least the introduction of ethical practices by the hotel and oversight to ensure they are held accountable would be expected. In business an honest service should be given for an honest price, and people should not be exploited to make a quick buck.

Review: I stayed at this hotel about two months ago when I was visiting san diego with my service dog. The person at the desk said they needed to see her registration papers which they are not allowed to do according to the ADA. I did not have them and I did not want to fight it, as it was nearly midnight. We agreed that they would refund me once I faxed them her registration documents when I got home.

When I got home the following week I faxed the hotel her registration and ID. I called them to make sure the manager ([redacted]) received it. She said she did, and that she would tell her bookkeeper and that it would take 15 days. I called back 15 days later and she told me I would have to wait. I kept calling her every couple of days for the past three weeks. She is very dismissive on the phone because there is not much I can do 400 miles away. It is always a negative encounter. When I called today she said that it was too late and she would not refund my money ever. I told her the laws regarding business and service animals, and told her she was stealing. She said she did not care and I should call the cops.Desired Settlement: 1. I want my $125 refunded

2. I want them to be punished for violating the ADA and for stealing my money and time.
