Tired of their scam calls
I’ve gotten to the point where I know these calls are scams (thick accent so you can’t understand them very noisy background). So I just keep them on the phone so it kills their time and it’s one less person they can scam! Please do not fall for these scams! They are never true!

This company are rip off artists They call and call until you are so sick of themI listened but they lied about the rates they wI'll give you They told me that they would give me a fixed rate of and when I switched they gave it to me for the first month and then raised it to 16.5, almost double I was only paying with pseg Then when I called to switch back they wouldn't change me back for two months They are the worst My energy bill went up so high when I was using the electric for air conditioning I will never do this again Pseg needs to stop selling my name and account information to these dishonest companies I will call them and inform them of that

Several months ago, a man going door to door in my apartment community approached me with a clipboard explaining that Harborside was now providing electric power to the area and that he was letting residents know that they needed to sign a form to confirm the switch to "lower rates."
Unfortunately, this was just prior to winter and so I was not surprised by higher bills, but as it started warming up in our area I compared my monthly bills from different years and noticed a stark difference in priceI then went on to check reviews of the company and saw similar concerns and *** confirmed that their own rate was lower than what Harborside was charging meDespite all of this, I'm leaving this review as neutral because Harborside was willing to cancel my account with no fees or hassleAlso, just following the cancellation, I read a rebuttal/response to a complaint similar to my own and they stated that they hire 3rd party sales and marketing companies who sometimes are not adequately trained in providing informationThis sounds like an excuse to me, but at least it clarified what likely led me to believing they were a better deal

This company are rip off artists. They call and call until you are so sick of them. I listened but they lied about the rates they wI'll give you. They told me that they would give me a fixed rate of 9.5 and when I switched they gave it to me for the first month and then raised it to 16.5, almost double. I was only paying 12 with pseg. Then when I called to switch back they wouldn't change me back for two months. They are the worst. My energy bill went up so high when I was using the electric for air conditioning. I will never do this again. Pseg needs to stop selling my name and account information to these dishonest companies. I will call them and inform them of that.

Harborside Energy preys on the elderly. My Aunt and Uncle had a problem with their PSE&G bill. I couldn't believe how high it was for their little house. I was going to call PSE&G, when Harborside called. I spoke to a man with a thick accent. I couldn't really understand what he was saying. What I did understand was if I didn't agree to the new rates the service would be canceled. If my Aunt heard this she would have agreed to the new rates out of fear. I promptly called PSE&G and switched them back. This was 2 weeks ago. Harborside called them again and tried to bully them into keeping their service. I wasn't there but Uncle told them, No. I was there Tuesday and another person called from Harborside. I let him know that my Aunt and Uncle did not want to switch. They were switched fraudulently. I said do not call again.I hope they don't. If you have family members that are elderly check their bills. I have no idea how much money they stole from them.

Back in the Fall of 2019, a random girl with a clipboard came to my apartment when no one but my roommate's boyfriend was home.
She was ranting and raving about Harborside blah blah blah
Somehow my roommate's boyfriend (who does NOT live with us and is NOT on our energy bill account at all) was able to agree to sign us up with Harborside with NO verification of who he was or anything.

As a result my roommates and I have had an outrageous charge added to our bill.

The kicker is everytime we try to call the number for Harborside we either cant get through or "mysteriously" get disconnected.

This is fraud and theft if I've ever seen it!
Do NOT trust them, ignore their calls and attempts to swindle you for your money!

You can bet that we will be taking legal actions against this company for all the money they continue to take from us when we NEVER agreed to it!

Despite all of this, I'm leaving this review as neutral because Harborside was willing to cancel my account with no fees or hassle.
