Review: [redacted] dba Hardcore Construction, LLC entered into a contract with me to help remodel our kitchen and laundry room. Part of the work to be completed was to install a tile floor. Mr. [redacted] offered me the option of paying the tile sub-contractor directly or paying Mr. [redacted] the amount charged by the tile contractor plus a 10% management fee for Mr. [redacted] to oversee the sub-contractor. I opted to have Mr. [redacted] manage the tile contractor. Mr. [redacted] included a price of $3,200 for the tile labor in our contract. We later learned that Mr. [redacted] had agreed to pay the tile contractor only $1,300 for the tile work, even though our contract required us to pay $3,200. We did pay Mr. [redacted] $3,200 in accordance with the contract instead of $1,300 plus 10% or $1,430 total in accordance with our verbal agreement. I have also learned that Mr. [redacted] lied to me when he told me that he has a contractor's license. Mr. [redacted]'s company, Hardcore Construction, LLC, actually does not have a contractor's license. However, there is a record of a license having been issued some years ago to Hardcore Construction, LLC and subsequently revoked.Desired Settlement: I would like Mr. [redacted] to pay me a refund of $1,770, which is the difference between the $3,200 I paid him and the $1,430 I should have been charged to cover the $1,300 he actually paid the tile sub-contractor plus a 10% management fee.
