This letter is in response to complaint ID [redacted] , Regarding the purchase of a heating element for amodel 0EMaytag electric dryer by Mrand Mrs [redacted] on April 21, 2015.Due to the faa that this dryer is or more years old, the reference material concerning it was a bitroughThis particular dryer has two element possibilities, one shorter, and one longer without furtherindication, we guessed at the smaller elementWhen the customer returned claiming it ~as too short,we ordered the longer version and exchanged the shorter one at no costWhen the customer returnedagain and complained it was still too short, we knew it was an application issueI waited on MrandMrs [redacted] on the most recent visit, viewed the element and how it was strung through the receptacle,and explained that it must he stretched to the proper length before it is strungUpon realizing thedegree of anger I was encountering, offered to have one of our technicians string it for them, at no~harge, (normally $50), that very day, if they would leave the element assembly and we would call themupon completion that afternoonMr [redacted] seemed to like the idea, immediately calmed down andsaid he would discuss with his wifeWe watched them both get in their truck and drive away.At this point in time I believe we have gone above and beyond to try to pleaseWe sell parts andguarantee they are correct and genuine according to the original manufacturer specsWe cannot,however, guarantee the level of mechanical prowess of the purchaser, nor refund a customer for a nonteturnable electrical part based on their inability to complete the repair properlyI hope this helps to clarify the situationPlease do not hesitate to call with further questIons.Sincerely, [redacted] , President
